‪Wouldn’t necessarily go out of your way for this but if nearby this is a sweet park with trails, a small visitor center with a few animals and some historic buildings. I liked their audio guide easy to access on your own phone but it didn’t really give any more info than the plaques. I wish they’d set up signage by each building with the associated audio guide number. I had to keep going back to the 2 entrance area signs for that info.‬

‪There are a few old buildings and a small center with local snakes and stuff. There are a few different trails, all nice. We got a trail map which was a help.‬

‪We went today for the private "goat experience" which included learning about the goats, playing with them, feeding them, and taking them for a walk! We had a great time and definitely recommend it for goat lovers! Our guide, Gray, was very friendly and helpful and made the experience even more fun!‬

‪I went here today to specifically see the Monkey Massacre Memorial, but I got so much more. This nature center, run by the city of Johns Creek, really puts the “nature” in the title; if you’re looking for paved sidewalks, sleek buildings, modern exhibits and general modernity, this isn’t the place for you. If, however, you like history, rustic charm, and general fun for the kids, you’re going to love it!

There’s plenty of exhibits outside relating to what life was like when the mills and attached farm were working, and a motley crew of exceptionally cared for animals, including snakes, turtles, fish, chickens, ducks, goats, bunnies, and even an African Spurred Tortoise! There’s also plenty of stops along the trails to observe the wildlife that sometimes passes through the forest. The staff is kind of slim and made of college age kids, but they’re super nice and you can tell they love what they do for this place. My only complaint is that the trails can be sort of rough and uneven, making this an iffy spot for folks with mobility issues. All in all, if you have elementary school aged kids who need some time away from their greasy iPads, give this spot a look. Oh, and be sure to ask them about the monkeys…‬

‪Had some free time on a nice afternoon and had just ate some donuts so I decided to take a stroll through nature. This place is really a nice way to spend a few hours. First off it seems like a great place to bring kids to learn some things about nature. There were a few running around while I was there but all along the trails there are spots set up to obviously stop and teach some things. Not sure how often or available guides are due to covid. There's also some small animals like chickens, ducks, turtles, etc for kids to see and learn about. The trails are well marked and laid out. It seems like a pretty moderate hike but be warned there are lots of roots crossing the trails. So watch your step so you don't trip and take a tumble. Trails also contain some nice boardwalks and run along a small stream. It's really a nice, peaceful place. There wasn't a fee to enter but they do have donation boxes set up in a few places to help maintain the park.‬

‪I had Friends visiting from PA and wanted to find a place we could enjoy with the worry of crowds and covid.

The trails were well marked, walking sticks & laminated trail maps to borrow and return. Bathrooms were clean and employees friendly.

Worth a shot. ‬

‪I visited Autrey Mill for the first time and will definitely return! The park is now open during the Covid crisis just not the visitor center, but there are maps and helpful info displayed as well as a cell phone tour available. It’s great for families or solo visitors such as myself. There is a butterfly garden, animals for viewing, and multiple trail options. I chose the Preserve Perimeter trail which follows a creek for much of the path. Really nice views and woodsy while the path is well maintained with signage. What a nice nature getaway right in town!!‬

‪This is special moment: due to corona virus, park visitors are not welcomed anymore. At the entrance from Old Alabama Road, there's a sign , it reads: "Come Take A Hike". But park's main gate was closed, only the entrance to trailhead was still open.

This is the most family friendly park nearby. I used to bring kids here to do volunteer work, there were also ducks, chicken, rabbit.

Today we were the only visitors of the park. The three big white ducks in the park still enjoy their quiet times, and 4 or 5 white-tailed deer ran and jumped passing us in the woods. I feel sad, all nice places are closed due to the fetal pandemic virus, our living space is shrinking. I wish everyone safely pass this dark moment and move on.‬

‪I love Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. It's tucked away off of Old Alabama Road. Locals knows it, I live not too far away. I love it here with it's many trails to explore. The Mill is constantly developing, with new areas. There's only two factors that disappointed me. One, it's gets Very Muddy in some of the lower landscapes, so beware, you will get dirty. My dog loves it. Second, they removed the old "church" building, a single unit, "bombed" out church/school building that to me, had some historical value.

But definitely worth a visit and explore.‬

‪You can walk the 3 miles of wooded trails. In the main park, you have 6 tour stops. You can dial into their tour information using your cellphone. See an old country store, an 1860's country church, a small visitor's center, an 1880's era home, a program barn, a tenant structure, and a farm museum of tools and equipment.
We attended their farm heritage day so extra activities included bluegrass music, concessions, camp cooking, arts and crafts for the children. We most enjoyed seeing the children learn how to make a cornhusk doll, a tussy mussy and even drill a hole in a table using a hand-turned drill. We also saw a craft using wood blocks, photos and shellac. The visitor center has a few snakes and turtles to see as well as three goats, a rabbit and some ducks. Bring the bug spray if it's a muggy day. This place with a history of gold is today an educational goldmine for groups such as scouts, homeschool, social studies and history students of all ages. The property has so much potential for group gatherings. It is funded by memberships, donations, program fees, and business sponsorships.
The parking lot is gravel. The ground in the main area has steps and uneven brick paths. The buildings include added ramps for entry and exit. Located in Johns Creek, Ga near historic Roswell, Ga.‬
