Myself, my partner and our 10 year old daughter have just returned from a week's skiing in Deux Alpes. It was our second ever skiing trip and first time to the resort.
We had to change our travel plans at the last minute and the ESS were so incredibly flexible, letting us change to later in the season which was much appreciated.
When we went to pick up our ski passes on the first day we met Emily, who could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We were booked into group lessons, but unfortunately due to it being the last week of the season, there was not enough demand so they allowed us to convert into a set amount of 1-1 hours. My daughter had Luke, an English guy, who was an excellent teacher for her. He was very calm and chatty with her. My partner had Sylvia for two days for snowboarding lessons and he said it was really helpful for being shown the best runs and picking up some tips. Unfortunately my instructor, who was an older French guy, was not so great. I had two private lessons with him, which by the end of the 2nd one, he seemed frustrated that I couldn't pick something up and asked if I wasn't concentrating as four times he had explained something and yet I still wasn't doing it. I tried to explained that I didn't know how to but was left feeling very deflated. I visited Emily in the office to discuss swapping my last private lesson and she could not have been more helpful or understanding. She paired me with Georgia, who I booked for an extra lesson on the last day as she was so good.
Despite this one blip, we would definitely use this company again in the future as the customer service was so amazing and it is a family-run business who were all very helpful, including picking us up in the morning, from our hotel, to take us to the best lift for where we needed to meet the instructor. Emily advised to always email the school and request the kind of instructor you are looking for e.g. good with nervous skiers, sensitive etc and they will always try to pair you appropriately.

To our wonderful ski and snowboard instructors – Luca, Ale and Fabio,
Our latest vacation was the second time that we had lessons with instructors from the ESI school in Alpe D'Huez. This time as well as the previous, the success of the vacation was thanks to them.
Luca who guided Marev did so with sensitivity, patience and caring listening. The experience was professional, improving and just perfect. Luca was the right person in the right place!
Ale who guided Noam and Efi made our vacation perfect, taught us important stuff in order to improve and he also made us laugh a lot. Ale adjusted the lesson exactly to our level and thanks to him we are better skiers.
Fabio who guided Nir understood right away that Nir is a professional snowboarder looking for extreme, so he gave him tips on how to do it right. He took Nir to the perfect slopes for him to snowboard. Nir finished the lesson with new tools and lots of happiness.
Luca, Ale and Fabio, you made our vacation unforgettable, thank you so much!

Hadn’t ski’d since school over 10 years ago. First day I was struggling with my snow plough and at the end of the week I was confidently going down reds and starting to carve the gentle greens!
Thanks especially to Robbie but the whole team was fantastic and friendly! I went with a large group and they moved us up and down depending on our level so we all got the most out of the week.
Really made our trip more enjoyable! Would recommend

Posto fantastico. Non avevo mai sciato, ho 60 anni e avevo paura di non riuscire ma con il supporto e la professionalità e soprattutto la pazienza dell’istruttore Andrea sono riuscito a godermi questa splendida esperienza con sicurezza, scoprendo la bellezza di questo sport. Ci sono buone possibilità che tornerò anche il prossimo anno. Tonino

Absolutely amazing tuition from John (for me) and Andrea (for my wife). They were patient, understanding, clear but also pushed us to be better skiers and to progress our ability far beyond what we'd expected. Such nice guys and an amazing experience!

After a 35 year hiatus at Les 2 Alpes I was well out of my depth on the blue & green slopes, however John's class was a sanctuary & a safe space to re-learn some techniques & discard some bad habits, the class warmed to John from day 1, his coaching manner is reassuring & he made us feel safe under his supervision, needless to say we followed John's reassuring voice around the slopes like ducklings following a duck, we all benefitted from John's 40 year's ski instructor experience & his sense of humour and going the extra mile for individual clients who were struggling & stumbling, John's coaching manner is firm but fair with some hearty humour thrown in, I thoroughly recommend him and I also noticed other ESS instructors' showing empathy, care & consideration for clients, both adult & child students, they are truly people-people and they clearly enjoy what they do, & what an exciting & exotic job it is too, needless to say if & when I visit L2A's again the ESS lessons are a no-brainer

Na een week privé skiles met ons drieën willen we onze instructeur JOHN enorm bedanken. Geduldig, zeer ervaren, vriendelijk en vrolijk. In één woord geweldig. Veel geleerd en meer zelfvertrouwen gekregen (we skiën nu 6 jaar). JOHN bracht ons op de mooiste plekken. Elise, Wander, Hans.

Con cursos de esquí para todos los niveles y todas las edades.
Los profesores son maravillosos. Simpáticos y profesionales. Hablan inglés, francés, italiano y hasta español.
Estuvimos del 18 al 25 de febrero. Hicimos un curso de 6 días (domingo a viernes) de 3 horas diarias; cada miembro de la familia en su nivel correspondiente.
Esperamos volver pronto y repetiremos seguro clases con European ski school.
Los profesores son maravillosos. Simpáticos y profesionales. Hablan inglés, francés, italiano y hasta español.
Estuvimos del 18 al 25 de febrero. Hicimos un curso de 6 días (domingo a viernes) de 3 horas diarias; cada miembro de la familia en su nivel correspondiente.
Esperamos volver pronto y repetiremos seguro clases con European ski school.

Les cours durent 3 heures et petits groupes !
Ce qui permet une meilleure compréhension des cours.
En plus les moniteurs parlent plusieurs langues et en l'occurrence l'anglais !
Mon fils s'est rendu compte qu'il a un bon niveau d'anglais grâce à son moniteur. 😁

First time skiing at 56 years of age (other than 2 lessons at Chill Factore where i was like Bambi on ice) with my wife, son and his fiance ( my sons fiance was a very competent skier to the point of her instructor had her skiing down a run backwards).
The organisation was very good. Initially my wife my son and i went into the same group level.
After two attempts down the training slope I was moved down two groups. The new group I joined consisted of 8 of us and the instructors name was John Nelson, who was unbelievably good.
His demonstrations were easy to follow and those that were struggling would ski behind him in turns.
After initially worrying about going skiing I was gaining more confidence each day.
We all started our classes on Monday (13th February 2023) and by Wednesday the slope that I couldn't ski down the previous day that my wife and son had used, I manged to ski down twice without falling, I put this down to the excellent instruction John had given me.
Come the end of our trip both my wife and son couldn't believe the improvement I had made from my first lesson at Chill Factore to now, I put some of this down to my determination but mostly by far the tuition I received from my skiing instructor John Nelson who was 1st class.
To finish off my review, my experience was that good (even with the falls and frustration on my part) that I'm looking forward to my next skiing trip.

We are visiting les deux Alpes in July, for 3 nights. My son is interested in snowboarding. Is this possible in July on the Glacier? If yes can he hire all equipment including clothes and how does he get to the glacier
