Leuke wandeling, jammer dat er een stukje weg in het midden het park doorkruist.
En je moet er wel goed weer bij hebben.
Dierentuin ligt ook in het park en is leuk voor kleine kinderen

Een mooie tuin, met waterpartijen, en een vermomde prieel. Wordt wel doorkruist door een vrij drukke baan.

mooie tuinen voor wandeling. Strak aangelegd. Op loopafstand van de leuke dierentuin. De tuinen liggen et voor dat je Kleef in rijdt.

This beautiful historic garden from 17th century in Baroque style is located near the Zoo of Kleve at the hilly area Springenberg and framed on both sides by wood. The Amphitheater form is the most eye-catching. A statue of Pallas Athene is in the middle of the garden and behind the statue there is a small round temple and up there on the top is an obelisk. We parked the car at the zoo parking area and took five minutes walk to this garden. It's worth a visit.

Je kan parkeren voor de dierentuin en even gaan wandelen. Het ziet er wel mooi onderhouden uit. We zijn maar even gebleven, want we waren op doorreis, maar als je wilt kan je hier wel even wandelen.

Kleve is unfortunately not on the international toursits destination list but it should. Those gardens are only a small example of the nice things to see there

Sehr schön angelegter Park mit etwas Kunst, Wasserspielen und schönen Fotolocations zum Beispiel für Hochzeitsfotos. Kostet keinen Eintritt, ist auch für Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet und Hunde dürfen (An der Leine) auch mit. Ein schöner Ort, um zu entschläunigen, für mich das Highlight Kleves.. Das Restaurant im Park hat Montags geschlossen.

Zwar geht die Hauptstraße zwischen den Gartenanlagen durch aber das stört nicht.
Schön angelegt und gepflegt. Und kostenlos nutzbar.

zeer mooi park . met veel afwisseling. soms moet je wel wat klimmen. mooi uitzicht als je helemaal boven bent.

The design of the 17th century Baroque gardens initiated by Johann Moritz von Nassau is still intact. The best view over these gardens is from the Springenberg (hillside with obelisk and eagle). Baroque was the style of the day and Johann Moritz was a modern man and admirer of Jacob van Campen, the Dutch architect and designer, who had a significant influence on him as well as on the Great Elector of Brandenburg - Prussia.
Note the strict imposition of order on nature and the symmetry of the square islands near the canal. Illustrative of the personality of Johann Moritz are the statues of Minerva (wisdom) and the iron man (military strength) later removed by Napoleon's troops. No Aphrodite ever appeared in the gardens.
The adjacent Forstgarten was added at a later date and is developed in a different style leaving more scope for nature and botanists.
