Piato fantastico. Ci si arriva con la macchina e poi, con attenzione e scarpe da ginnastica, si scende in una gola con ruscello e vegetazione rigogliosa. Acqua trasparente e freddina, ma ci si riesce a fare il bagno. Qualcuno ha messo delle corde per aiutarsi a scendere e a risalire ed anche una meravigliosa altalena. Ci ritorneremo!

Wir fuhren die Schotterstraße bis zum Ende und gingen zu Fuß auf die Suche. Die Brücke ist sehr versteckt. Ein unbefestigten Weg, teilweise sehr, sehr schmal und unwegsam ein Stück nach unten mit einem befestigtem Seil, führt hinunter in die Schlucht. Dort findet man einen wunderbaren, glasklaren Bach und rundherum Natur pur! Ein toller Ort aber bitte nur mit gutem Schuhwerk und guten Nerven besuchen!! Für kleine Kinder nicht geeignet. Nach einem Regentag ebenfalls nicht ratsam, da es sehr rutschig sein könnte. Wir waren begeistert von diesem fast unberührten, wunderschönem Fleckchen Erde.

Family holiday on a near by island. Devils bridge is a must see, bring comfy shoes, non slip! Best time is to go early morning before it gets too hot! Taxi from the port cost about €25 one way and organised for the driver to come back in three hours to collect us.

Πολύ όμορφοι καταράκτες,
παγωμένα νερά και πολύ όμορφη φύση!
Όποιος έχει ανάγκη να χαλαρώσει στην φύση ακούγοντας το νερό, πρέπει να το επισκεφτεί.

We drove to the Tower of Diatechisma and walked up from there; 15mins in the sun. It’s a bumpy gravel track but, in hindsight, I could have driven up in our ordinary vehicle.
Once you walk over the bridge you can choose:
1. go left, upstream, and clamber over the boulders. There’s a bit of a vague path but it’s pretty much self-discovery.
Or
2. go right (we did both) steep downstream descent under huge plane trees. Use the thin rope to guide you down to the pool. There is a swinging rope for the Tarzans. And you can clamber up through the waterfalls/gorge till right under the bridge.
We saw no snakes.
Be aware that all parts of the pink flowering shrubs (nerium oleander) are toxic.
Some tips:
Go early, before the heat sets in.
Wear grippy footwear.
Take swimwear: the water is crisp, clear, refreshing.
Not for small kids. I would say from 10yrs old it’s probably okay.
It’s an adventure! You could twist your ankle, or break your skull. Do not go if you expect warning signs or protective railings - there are none. Good luck and enjoy!

Today, it was possible to drive most of the way there, along a very ordinary road out of the nearest town. We had to park the car before actually reaching the tower. It is POSSIBLE to drive further to 2 parking bays, but a rock fall has made the road so narrow, with a straight drop over the side, you'd have to be seriously "adventurous" to actually drive a car on that section. Certainly nothing that is not 4WD.
The walk up isn't too bad, if you are reasonably fit, but try not to do it in the heat of the day. Take water. Personally, I would NOT take small children.

Ενα μερος must-see αν εισαι λατρης της φυσης! Ο δρομος ειναι λιγο δυσκολος με χωματοδρομο και πετρες τα τελευταιο περιπου μισο χιλιομετρο. Αξιζει την επισκεψη!

Not a Disneyland kind of place. You have to actually climb rocks holding onto an old slimy rope. But you are rewarded for your bravery with a beautiful fresh water pool. Butterflies flit around and add to the ambiance.

Στην όμορφη και ενδιαφέρουσα Τροιζήνα, θα βρεις αυτό το δύσβατο, εξωπραγματικό και απόκοσμο γεφύρι. Μέσα σε οργιώδη φύση, με δύσκολα μονοπάτια και νερά που τρέχουν κάτω από τα πόδια σου, θα καταλάβεις γιατί πίστευαν οτι σε αυτόν τον τόπο ζούσαν νύμφες και γιατί επινοήθηκαν τόσες ιστορίες. Ξεχωριστό, πανέμορφο, και μοναδικό, σου αφήνει μια παράξενη αίσθηση που μόνο αν πας εκεί μπορείς να νοιώσεις. Πραγματική εμπειρία.

The site is located a 2 mile ride from Troizina (or Troezen in another form of English copy), which is a small village near Galatas. Search for "devil's bridge Troizina" on Google Maps and ya shall find the place. Also, when you reach Troizina, there are numerous blue signs in English leading to Devil's bridge. The last two miles are a gravel road, but I think that every normal car can make the ride without any special problem). Once the road ends, you walk over the bridge and head right down to the ponds. It's a short 10 minute hike.
