It's mostly sports fields built up high next to a polluted cycleway-lined creek. The fields seemed good except for some muddy parts. Not much else in the park and any good bits had a distinct lack of shade.

Some spots where dogs must be on leash. Fun run around area for children. Open and lovely on sunny day.

I know it's hard to believe if someone is looking at John Fisher Park now, that 60-65 years ago this beautiful, well-organized park was a swampy dump. I do not know who I should have to praise for it, -probably the whole community of Curl Curl-, that they have made such a pleasant change. The park lies on both sides of the Curl Curl Lagoon and the Greendale creek, roughly between Adam Street and Abbot Street. There are three separate parts, the Adam Street Reserve and Curl Curl Lagoon, also called Dog Park, Abbott Road Ground, where the soccer club is based, and Reub Hudson Oval where the basketball court is located.
In the middle is the Curl Curl Sports Center, and there are some basketball and other courts around it. When I was there, the whole park was dozing sleepily in the noon heat; only two girls were sitting in the shade with their skateboards. When I asked them to take a couple of circles, since some activity would show better on the photo, one of them willingly hit the skateboard. Now, her smiling image is enriching the John Fisher Park.

This is a pleasant area to go for a walk and there are plenty of ovals which cater to a variety of sports. There is even a series of netball courts. There is also an area where dog owners can take their dogs. The bathrooms near the netball courts are fairly new and in good condition. It's a good place to walk through if you are walking from Brookvale to the beach.
