As I was the only person on the group trip that day the group leader met me at my local beach where I was staying and I was given the choice to Kayak around Dinas Island, which was ideal.
We kitted-up and went through the procedure and safety advice, then had a fantastic trip in and out of caves, looking at seals and their pups (from a safe distance so as not to disturb).
My guide was very informative and knew a lot about the local geology and wildlife. I feltvery safe on the open sea despite having only once before done a sea kayaking trip.
I would highly recommend Mayberry Kayaking. They even sent me a photo in the post of me on the water.

Despite a lot of rain we had an epic sea kayaking trip. They were great with our kids (7, 9 and 18).and the information about the area and wildlife was great! It was lots of fun and definitely to be repeated.....thank you !

I would highly recommend Mayberry Kayaking, Mike is a brilliant instructor, and made us feel very safe. Not only did he provide great instruction, his enthusiasm and knowledge for the local wildlife and geology made the trip even more enjoyable. The booking process was really easy and when I called to get more information Lucy was really helpful.
I was a little apprehensive because I had not sea kayaked before but Mike made me feel very confident and I came away feeling extremely proud of my achievement. Our 9 year old son came with us too and he had a wonderful time in the double kayak. It was a really magical experience, full of memories that we will never forget.

Excellent open-sea kayaking. I went on the family tour with my five year old daughter. Had some choppy seas but fair weather. Nonetheless, never fellt unsafe. Excellent guiding and safety instruction by Amy and good material. Would recommend for sporty families and would definitely go again. Well worth the money!

Mike is an excellent instructor and knows the area like the back of his hand. I learnt a lot and enjoyed it immensely. He encouraged us out of our comfort zones and into our 'learning zones', so I am now much more confident that I can handle and enjoy fairly rough conditions and look forward to putting my new skills to use and build on those experiences.

Following a short holiday near Swansea, it made sense to extend my break to include sea kayaking in Pembrokeshire. It was an additional 65 miles compared to the 306 miles to Fishguard from Kent. It was a good decision with a very enjoyable 2 days. I made the booking on line following a call to Lucy who was very helpful. The booking process went smoothly with no issues. It has a good cancellation arrangement giving notification no less than two days prior to the booked date in event of bad weather or customer cancellation/ booked numbers below a workable minimum. All equipment was provided although I used some of my own paddling gear where transport or drying was not an issue. The use of closed cockpit sea kayaks by Mayberry Kayaking with spraydecks allows you the option of staying drier and warm and better able to negotiate waves further off shore, covering distance at speed. Our guide Paul was very friendly and experienced, ensuring our safety whilst being flexible to take on challenging conditions within the groups capabilities. Whilst an offshore wind prevented us going out to Strumble Head, we were able to kayak close to Dinas Head and across Newport Bay. I enjoyed taking on the larger waves with a force 5 wind once clear of the protection of Strumble Head and the cliffs. It was a new experience manoeuvering through the rocky outcrops with the breaking waves. There was some great views looking back at the cliffs of the shoreline and close up to rock arches,. caves and sea birds. We were lucky to get relatively close to some dolphins in Fishguard Bay and some very young seal pups on the beaches in the caves. We kept our distance so as not to disturb them. The sea is clear and clean and an adult seal took an interest in our group, following us for some distance to Dinas Head. On the first day, Paul took the opportunity to completed some rescue training off the beach at Pwllgwaelod , improving our sea kayaking skills. He introduced the group to sea kayak surfing on breaking waves approaching Newport Beach on the second day. I was very pleased that I managed to do this. Thank you. We achieved a lot in two days and I would recommend Mayberry Kayaking.

I enjoyed two calm, sunny days sea kayaking along the Pembroke coast, stopping off at beaches for lunch. We saw lots of seals on one day and bird life and the stunning coastline throughout. When the weather is good there is no better place to be. The guide was friendly and helpful (helping me out with transport) and I would like to return next year.

We had a brilliant day on the water with Kay and Paul. The admin service provided by Mike and Lucy was efficient and informative ensuring the booking process went smoothly. Additionally, they promptly provided photos of the day which was a lovely keepsake. On the day itself, all equipment was provided and safety checks completed. And then we hit the water! It was very peaceful being on the sea all day with no phones or other distractions- just the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline (quite different from the sea). Paul and Kay gently encouraged us to take on challenges as our confidence grew, from kayaking in narrow rocky channels to eating seaweed! Nothing was compulsory, so we all felt proud of our achievements without being pushed out of our comfort zone. Thank you all so much. We would thoroughly recommend!

Enjoyed my time on the water with Mayberry Kayaking! Well organised tour of the coast and our guide was brilliant. As it happens the ocean was so still and allowed us to enjoy more of the scenery. Will definitely be back in touch again. Thank You!

Slightly nervous first-time sea-kayakers we were, but we had a great time on the water with our instructor Amy, who made us feel very safe. Beautiful coastline, excellent tuition, fabulous caves and beaches….and very tasty seaweed! Thanks for a great day!
