Lovely walk around the woods,spotted a Kingfisher, nice easy trails.
Very pleasant easy to navigate paths. Entered via the Bailey car park gate.

We had a walk through these woods on a wet day but it was still enjoyable.
The water was in full flow, very peaceful. To make the visit extra special we spotted a Kingfisher.
Well worth a wander.

The most magical place, stunning woodland, fascinating sculptures make this a very special place, the paths and steps are accessible and their are seats dotted about everywhere, for anyone who enjoys the tranquility of nature this is a must.

Was a really lovely walk, the directions were really clear and we had a great time. It was a really sunny day so it was nice to be under the shade of the trees. Would definitely do it again.
The only thing is that it would be nice to have some more bins on the walk as we were walking around with rubbish.

So-Gail and I went to Skipton for a week and Came Across Skipton Castle Woods.
What a find- Firstly- Its Free-Secondly Our Cocker Spaniel Loved it.
Such a Lovely Peaceful Place- loads to see and Quite an easy walk.
There are parts that can be quite steep, but you can keep to the flat area beside the river and still get a good experience.
Defiantly recommend it.

We visited whilst holidaying in the area. We parked at the castle car park. As it was after 2pm, it only cost £2.50. A friendly, helpful chap who was taking the money, gave us directions to the woods.
Our children, aged 8 & 10, loved the walk. We took the red route which went all around and took about 2 hours. We walked up and down steps, over several bridges, saw waterfalls and streams, the old Saw Mill, the castle, and a lovely church where we lit candles and said prayers. Our children absolutely loved it.
Even though there were lots of dog walkers, we didn’t see any faeces anywhere, which is usually an issue in these places, but there were a couple of bags left.
Highly recommend for a lovely walk.

Nice walk through the woods and along the river. I recommend wellies or walking boots as it is muddy in lots of areas. We parked in the Castle car park, to access the walk you walk outside the entrance to the car park, go left and you will see the gate.

Lovely walk from Skipton town centre, good paths even after all the wet weather. Free! Nice area to walk with friends or family. Really enjoyed our visit

Great place for a stroll after Sunday lunch or visiting the castle. Its a lovely 2.5 mile stroll, family and dog friendly.

Free walk in the woods. Beautiful, accessible and well-maintained paths, benches and bridges looked after by the Woodland Trust. Lots of mature trees and wildlife to savour as well as waterfalls, rivers and parts of the canal. The woods are right at the side of the castle and just out of the Town centre at the top of the High Street. A lovely peaceful walk in a stunning part of the Country.

Many parts of the pathways are steep and some sections narrow, so I wouldn't say it's suitable for anyone on bikes.

Hi is the walk accessible for double buggies? I’m a childminder and we love walks but needs to be able to take a pushchair.

Thank you for your question. It would be possible to access the wood via Chapel Hill but it is very steep in places.
Unfortunately, the canal tow path which leads to the woodland has a very narrow section which would not accommodate a double buggy.
The yellow route in the woodland is surfaced with compacted hard core and suitable for pushchairs.
