Great forest with lots of parking and good toilets too. The play park and giant are amazing for kids. The solar walk is great (if a little long for smallies) - but a great day out!

We discovered Davagh Forest a few years ago when looking for somewhere to walk the dog. There is a decent car park, with toilet, changing facilities and a kids playground (suitable for children up to 12 years). There also a tap to wash your mountain bike down when you’re done.
There are lots of paths you can take of various lengths. There a picturesque walks alongside streams and through forests. The forest lacks a decent map, marking paths and mountain bike trails. The dog loves running around through the trees.
I haven’t used the mountain bike trails as we don’t bring our bikes with us when visiting the family, but there looks to a variety of interesting trails of differing intensity.

Why have we not found this place before?!?! Just in our doorstep! This forest is great for mountain biking! We have two kids 8 & 6 years old and we did the 3k bike trail, it was brilliant! Great exercise and was a challenge for the age group, however they done the trail another 3 times after that and were flying. There is also a brilliant park there for the kids to play too. Very clean and in great shape! There are toilets there and changing areas and a bike wash. We spend all day there ( we took a picnic too) picnic benches are available too. I’d highly recommend Davagh and will be back more often! There are another 2 Trails to try!

Miles and Miles of trails but get a map of the cycle routes so you do not get lost as only one short walk is marked, but stay of the bike trails. The roads around are big enough for everyone and you can do many varied walks there from 1 hour to four hours without going round the same trail

I'm a keen (female) mtb-er and absolutely LOVE Davagh. Open 24/7 so you can come and go as you please. Ample car park. Toilets. Water. Shelter. Bike wash. Kids play area. Pump track. And best of all - the trails!
From start to finish we usually cover between 10 and 14 miles depending on how energetic we're feeling! Allow for a couple hours of cycling. All routes are great: fast and flowing, technical, occasionally mucky.... The Stream Trail is an absolute must. And once is never enough lol. Hard tail or full sus - your choice (although first time there I was on a hybrid and still managed) Regardless of weather, it's a blast. Even after a heavy rainfall it always drains away pretty quick.
No café or eating facilities at the moment so please do bring plenty of snacks, energy bars, drinks, sandwiches or whatever to keep you going.
Highly recommend this trail to mtb-ers of all ages, fitness levels and all capabilities. And remember, 'it doesn't get easier, you just get better'!

Excellent Trails, walks and fantastic playpark for the kids. Great family day out and remember to bring a picnic.

I was here in September it was a beautiful day and we decided to take the kids for a walk. They first enjoyed the play park they easily spend 1 hour in it and could of spend more if we had of let them. Then we went for a beautiful walk through the forest the water streams were great fun for the kids cause the dropped over leaves to see who's would win. The natural beauty is outstanding. We definitely will get back and explore more and we might even bring the bikes with us so we could get round more of the forest. A definite must see for all Family's.

If your into your biking then this is the place for you. On the face face of it, it seems that this place is specifically designed for bikes but you can walk or even drive through this forest.

Went here one Sunday afternoon with my kids. Great play park for them and very safe too. We went cycling as well. We stuck to the green trail as my youngest is only 8. Brilliant fun zipping through the forest. Will def be back to try the other trails.

I didn't have my bike so had to make do with a lovely forest walk beside a babbling brook. Would be temped to come back and tackle the 18 km trail with a few hundred meters of assents!
