Myself and 7 friends visited this spa the past weekend to have a girly spa weekend with afternoon tea. The spa experience was faultless but i cannot say the same for the afternoon tea. Firstly when we sat down we should have been offered a glass of prosecco (which was included in the package which we paid for) but we had to ask for this close to the end of service. We also had to ask for tea which was not immediately offered when we sat down (we had to continue to ask for milk and tea refills as the tea was continually cold).
So the first course arrived and the cup of soup was cold and the quiche was so chalky in taste which made it completely unable to eat it.
Then the 3 tier arrived with the scones, sandwiches and deserts. At first glance this looked pretty impressive but when we began to eat this is when everything went downhill........
The scones WERE NOT fresh but seemed to be frozen and defrosted, they became so crumbly when you cut them open and could not even butter them never mind put on the jam.
The sandwiches were next and the choices were so odd for an afternoon tea (Coronation chicken which was so overpowered by peppers, thick cheese slices with picked onions and lastly egg and some sort of onion, again so runny and not very nice to taste)
We all had hope for the deserts but sadly these were not any better- one of the deserts which was obviously dipped in coffee was so soggy that not one of my group ate it. It would appear that maybe some of the deserts were frozen and defrosted too.
If you are thinking of going here for afternoon tea, think again and look at other locations in the area as you will be so disappointed. To top it all off for me i was ill the afternoon after and the day after as well which i can safely say it was the food from the afternoon tea.
Avoid at all costs

Treated my mum to a spa package this morning. It was absolutely incredible! The minute you walked through the door the essential oils instantly relax you. We we’re greeted at reception by the lovely Olivia who showed us around the spa area and to the changing room. From there we enjoyed the steam room, jacuzzi and pool before our treatments. The treatment room was spacious, clean with relaxing lighting and music. I had the back massage by Olivia who was extremely professional talking me through the process also offering aftercare regarding my back pain honestly was the best massage I’ve ever had. My mother opted for a facial her therapist was called Emma again extremely professional mum loved her treatment that much she is returning to Emma again in 4 weeks. Two both amazing therapists and friendly ladies. We loved every minute would highly recommend.

Excellent 1night stay in Bushtown Hotel.
Hotel was welcoming, had a “cosiness”, was absolutely spotless in every area.
Room was very comfortable. Newly refurbished. We asked for an upgrade, got it , had to pay extra for it but was well worth it.
Standard double was quite small.
Spa is lovely. It’s a 3 star hotel so an amazing facility to have. Pool is understandably small, water jets were excellent, jacuzzi was excellent as was the steam room.
Didn’t get a treatment as I hadn’t booked in advance but hopefully next time….
All staff were so friendly and efficient.
A special word of praise to the lady on reception on Friday at 3pm approx. Unfortunately I don’t know her name but she had long wavy black hair. She was on her own at reception and was dealing with external calls, internal bedroom calls and was checking guests in as well. She handled all this so calmly, smiling throughout and speaking so professionally to everyone she was dealing with. No one on the external call inquiring about prices/availability would have had any idea of what she was coping with at the other end.
Perhaps management could consider an extra member of staff for reception at busy times?
We definitely would come back, I imagine it would have a great atmosphere in autumn/winter as well. Noticed some fire stoves which would be so cosy in winter.

Amazing massage & facial. Really enjoyed the thermal pool. The spa area is really nice and relaxing. I’ll definitely be back again

Sharon makes you feel very welcome and we enjoy going every week, she also does great head, shoulder, hand and feet massages. We go every week and I have the head massage which is so relaxing. Sharon can not do enough for you and we enjoy her chats as she does her massage.

Very cold and the pool was difficult to access. No steam room or jacuzzi as advertised and not allowed into pool without swim cap which they could only supply one of which was already wet, disappointing

Very small pool with a small kid we felt like we couldn't let him enjoy himself shouting as there was swimming lessons going on which she was great but we felt in the way showers not hot pool was cold changing area could go a refit but ok just

My husband & I are new to the Coleraine area & checked out the Bushtown Leisure facilities so I could swim whilst my husband used the gym. We only used the pool facilities on this particular day & we were very disappointed. The pool itself is only 10 meters in length & doesn't look as though the pool tiles have been cleaned in a very long time. The 'jacuzzi ', which is part of the pool, wasn't working. There is also a sauna but we didn't check that out. The changing areas were clean although needed a face lift ! My husband checked out the gym area and said it didn't look too bad as far as gym equipment but as I said he didn't try it. On a plus side the Staff member at the leisure area was very nice and pleasant. I don't think, however, that we will be taking out membership !

Staff are lovely, pool is small but cosy, jacuzzi and sauana is brilliant and the gym has everything you need! 100% recommend massage by sharon!

We thought we'd only swim & go home but the whole family enjoyed the experience and were talked into trying our first ever bamboo massage by the manager Sharon which was great fun. Everyone was friendly and we thought it was a great place to enjoy an afternoon.
