‪Stunning pass, drove up it in my 5.5 tonne bus, which is just under 8ft wide, made for a very interesting 15 minutes! Well worth the effort though....‬

‪Wonderful walk (climb, stagger.....). Glad we both had good walking shoes (well me trainers, wife walking boots).

It really is a very beautiful valley - initially looking UP at Peveril Castle, by the time we decided to call it quits, looking DOWN at the castle.

First went there some 40 odd years back - if you are brave (youngish) enough try running up the sides of the valley - look incredibly steep (and are), but the sheep have created small pivots where they stand and you will find it remarkable how you can climb something that looks impossible.

Walking up the valley floor it is steep, rocky and wet, but every step really is worth the effort, really can't say how much we enjoyed it.

Looking up the valley sides there are small caves, but whether they have formed over the years or hundreds of years back men carved out shelters. Look carefully and you will find a gated one that was either a way in/out of the castle, or maybe it was a dungeon.

NB: I would suggest setting off towards dusk and if very rainy be careful there really are a lot of slippery stones.‬

‪We drove down and tried to take photos whilst on the move, good fun. Parked at the bottom and walked up to the top, taking photos walking in both directions. Some amazing images are possible. It is a steep uphill climb, but if in your abilities, give it a go. You will appreciate the scenery more. Also once at the top you can roam without the disappointment of not finding a parking space. They are usually full fro quite early bu campers or walkers‬

‪You just come upon it and it’s really short … so we drove round twice. Stunning scenery… in both directions. Highly recommended even if you don’t have time to stop, the drive amazing!‬

‪This was unexpected. Our motorhome nearly didn't make it up, such lovely views going between the mountains . Bet its awkward in the winter though‬

‪Stunning views‬

‪what a view.. stunning views from the bottom or from the top or from the car park.. and Even in the Car while driving. This is something that is a must in Peak-District. There is a good car park next to it (ticket needs to be taken i.e. paid car park) and a small shop (when it opens, not always). Good enough space on grass picnic. really a worth going to this‬

‪Amazing scenery! Absolutely breathtaking, lovely sunny day when we visited so was a lovely place to be. So many lovely walks to go on and a cave or two to explore. I climbed up to Horseshoe Cave which is a small cave you can go inside but are advised not to unless you have the correct equipment and are experienced in these things but lovely road and area for spending a day walking‬

‪Stunning Fossiled Seascape‬

‪Originally these rocks were at the bottom of the seabed. The short drive (or walk) along the pass is amazing. There are a few caverns you can visit in this area too- including the famous Blue John Mine. Any geology or archaeology fan would love this area, You can also walk along the top of the Pass which I plan to do on my next visit. ‬
