The views from the top of one of the towers was amazing. There is enough remaining of this ruined castle to imagine how difficult it would have been for anyone attacking the castle in the 13th century. The staff were very friendly and the area is kept clean by Alan, who didn't like being retired and took on the job of keeping the area clean. I would have said maintenance man but maintaining this building would be too big a task for a large company and not just one man. A brilliant morning

Nice little castle - shame that it seems people get in on an evening and leave litter everywhere
Could see castle from our premier inn room. Staff there are doing a good job - could just do with a few benches dotted around

Visited the castle during a recent holiday to Wales, myself husband and young son really loved exploring the castle, beautiful building with interesting history, there are steps to observe views from higher levels very well maintained and staff are very friendly would recommend

Really good old castle to visit lots of information to be found, recoend buying a guide book. Lovely views and would be a great place to wall the dog or have a picnic, westher permitting

Interesting ruins with great views from the top of the walls.
There's good car parking available onsite and the ladies in the shop were friendly and helpful.

Lovely place castle well preserved and a lot of ruins left of outer walls but little in regards rooms and info
I don't normally enjoy providing negative comments... But the staff (2 elderly women) were rude abrupt and off hand... After paying my mother went through into the grounds she realised that she wanted to leave something in the car. Seen as I was in the carpark my mother went to pass it over the gate to me but as she did the lady shouted loudly and sharply you pay in here wanted me to pay again

Beautiful sight, kids loved exploring the old moat and the ruins, it’s not too expensive and facilities are minimal but worth a visit and then a walk into the town for some food and the local nature reserve afterwards

I didn't see any dogs while visiting. But there is plenty of free space but the lawns and area is very well kept indeed so check before visiting. There does not seem to be a specific dog walking area
