The nostalgia. History everywhere, reminds me of the one my Grandmother had Tapp's Tap.

Sono stato per due sere in questo pub, soggiornando in un vicino hotel nel centro di Kinsale.
Che dire… esperienza magnifica: la prima sera sono stato accolto subito dal proprietario, il quale si è interessato subito al motivo per cui ero a Kinsale.
Ho avuto subito un'impressione stupenda: una persona umile, vestita in maniera semplice, orgogliosa del suo locale: dopo un paio di Guinness quindi mi è venuto da chiedergli di farmi fare "un viaggio" fra i whiskey che lui riteneva migliori, fra quelli presenti nel locale: quando gli ho chiesto questa cosa lui è quasi "arrossato", ed è stato felicissimo di farmi bere ciò che a lui piace di più: risultato, serata stupenda assaporando sia distillati poco conosciuti fuori dall'Irlanda che edizioni speciali di whiskey più commerciali. (ps. la maggior parte di quelli che mi ha fatto bere erano davvero POCO costosi! lo specifico per sottolineare l'onestà). E' frequentato da gente del posto ma anche da turisti.
La prima sera l'ho passato al bancone col proprietario o con una coppia di americani di NY mentre la seconda sera nel bellissimo retro semi-aperto con un gruppo di inglesi.
Super raccomandato!
PS. dopo il "tour" della prima sera mi ha regalato il menù dei whiskey in ricordo della bella serata passata insieme… se mai tornassi a Kinsale ci tornerò sicuramente!

Excellent local pub with great Guinness and a very welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a few quite pints with some good friends.

Mary! Nobody quite like her! During my time as Regional Sales Manager for Beamish and Crawford in the mainland and based in Newcastle Upon Tyne I had the privilege of many visits to Cork and these visits consisted of not only a tour of the brewery but a visit to beautiful Kinsale and a quick visit to The Tap Tavern and the wonderful Mary. It really was a step back in time with her push button A telephone box and a tour of Tim's forge to the rear. Kinsale is truly a wonderful town and full of so much rich Irish heritage. I do miss it so!
Love to everyone there and apologies for not mentioning all of my wonderful friends there. Oh to visit again.

Gorgeous cosy little pub with turf fire and loads of original features interesting artefacts and lots of interesting photos.
When we were there, Mary the proprietor was a great hostess with time tlo sit and chat while we enjoyed a few pints.
She had some very interesting points of view on life and we enjoyed hearing and debating them with her!
Has to be on your to do list when in Kinsale.

We went for the Ghost tour but it was pouring rain so we didn't get the full tour but they were super accommodating and took us on a tiny tour once the rain stopped for a bit. Stayed the remaining evening for some wonderful conversation and a few pints.

This is a great little pub. Nothing fancy, nothing phony, a tiny pub that has warmth. Had the pleasure to be served by "Queen Mary" the 83-year-old owner. She is well known by the locals.
Friendly, authentic pub where we enjoyed great lively conversations about international politics. Good prices and a real treat to feel like you belong. Just a short walk up from the harbor.

My cheeks still hurt from laughing for more than an hour straight. My wife jumped a few times but laughed til her cheeks hurt as well. Highly recommend this tour!!

I do not know the address but it is right near St Multose Church. It is probably a 5-7 min walk from Perryville house. We stayed at the Old Bank and we able to walk. The town is very walkable. The tap is very well known so you can always as a local if you have issues.

There is a charge. I've not taken it, but I believe you walk around the ancient streets of Kinsale at night, hearing scary stories. I would use google for more info.
