The memorial is not a big or gaudy one, but it is the thought that counts. It stands in a prime spot for all to see. It remembers a horrible action that resulted in the death of many innocent men women and children--many of whom are buried near the city.
The surrounding city is a classic historical and charming town. There are tours you can take of the city

The day we went looking for this it was covered in tourists. We didn’t actually get to see it up close

A striking memorial to those lost in the Lusitania sinking, at a historic site, where the last passengers for the Titanic were boarded. Great location.

A very important memorial to those who were lost in the sinking of the Lusitania during the war. The memorial stands in the centre of the town.

Let me start by saying the people of Cobh are highly commended for helping out on the recovery of bodies of the Lusitania sinking, even burying some of them on the town’s Old Church Cemetery.
The memorial here stands as a respectful gesture to remember these victims. Life-size and life-like, the statues are as humanly expressive as it could be. One can feel a sense of loss as you look into these figures.
The location is fitting too as it overlooks the Cork Harbour. Spare a moment here and learn an important part of Cobh’s maritime and humanitarian history.

Pues eso, una estatua memorial del Lusitania, en homenaje a los pescadores que ayudaron en el rescate.
Como tengo que rellenar caracteres os diré que está en todo el centro del pueblo frente al puerto, no tiene pérdida.
Es una estatua, no nos vengamos arriba, pero es bonita.

Great to pay respect to the dead but it really is just a statue. Its not an attraction really. If it was in a bigger city you would walk past it but cobh has a maratime theme i suppose so when in rome......

Statue in middle of town with traffic able to go on both side so have to be careful picture taking. Commemorates the sinking of the ship as many of the dead were brought to this town (once known as Queenstown) by local fisherman. This town is very historic as this was also the last stop of Titanic before it sank.

A well maintained memorial to all of those who died in 1915 with thie sinking of the ship. It has a small noticeboard with some details on it for those who are not familiar with the story.
Well kept and litter free, the town obviously care for this place.
Not worth a trip in its own right, but if in Cobh, then very much worth a visit.
