Fabulous day out (6-hours) paddling off Quadra Island in a small group (6 people in 3 tandems) with our fabulous guide, Salana! Gorgeous views throughout of pristine water, numerous islands, rocky cliffs, and mountain ranges beyond. We started out at low(er) tide and saw lots of tidal/sea life (purple sea stars, red sea cucumbers, sea urchins, oysters, clams, jumping fish) and seals. After paddling around islands, we stopped for lunch at a rocky beach. On the way back, we hugged the coastline and turned bend approaching seal rock when our guide noticed a number of boats in the distance. We stopped and soon realized why. Straight ahead, two orcas swimming around seal rock. We stopped and watched in amazement for a bit and then we saw the black dorsal fins start heading our way. They came well out of the water twice showing their black & white markings. I finally grabbed my phone and got a few parting shots as they swam by our group. Incredible experience! Highly recommend!

My 13 year old niece and I are on a Vancouver island trip and wanted some adventure on quadra and a relax day together. The kayaking was great and our guide was fantastic. We saw beautiful scenery, eagles, star fish, seals, sand dollars and off course many crabs. We had lunch on a beach all you ourselves and enjoyed talking about travel and humanity. Paddles how brought some winds and waves but our guide helped up with a little pull from her kayak and navigated some rough water home safely. Recommend the tour to disconnect, connect with nature and get some exercise on the water.

Wir haben eine Halbtagestour gemacht: sehr schön mit Seehundkolonie und kleiner Pause auf Ausgucksfelsen. Der Guide Mike hat viele interessante Informationen zur Natur berichtet und ist perfekt auf unsere Interessen eingegangen.

Our tour operator booked this kayaking tour for us so we did not know what to expect.
We did the evening kayaking tour. We had 4 guides (!) with us who knew a lot about the environment, animals and surrounding area. They were also very nice and spontaneous too, which we thought was important since we were on the water for 3+ hours. We visited a seal colony which was great! they were very curious and swam right up to us, which was an amazing experience. it rained during the tour but we were not soaked at all since we got these nice skirts to protect your legs and prevent the inside of the boat from overflowing.

My friends and I went on the 3 day, two night Discovery Expedition. All three of us were new to kayaking. I had never kayaked on the ocean previously and had minimal experience on a lake.
From the time I started to enquire about the trip to the start of the excursion Quadra Island Kayaks was prompt in responding to emails and answering any questions I had about our upcoming trip. We were given a packing list which outlined everything we needed to bring. Having never done anything like this before we had lots of questions and were given the opportunity to speak with Ella our guide so that we knew exactly what to pack before leaving home.
The evening before our trip we met with the owner Cassandra who looked through everything we packed to ensure we had all of the necessary supplies. The company also provided some additional dry bags for packing. If you are bringing your own from home, smaller bags are recommended as they can easily fit and fill any gaps inside the kayak compartments.
While I didn’t expect the ocean to be flat calm we did experience some windy conditions. Ella made sure we stayed on track and provided expertise on how to maneuver through the waves and tidal flows. We saw seals, a humpback whale, sea stars, urchins, beautiful sunsets and a full moon and stars that were so bright it was unbelievable.
Ella prepared all of our meals. They were tasty and quickly devoured after paddling. Waking up each morning to a beautiful ocean view and hot and hearty breakfast was a real treat.
The sense of accomplishment at the end of the three day trip was huge. Thank you Ella and Quadra Island Kayaks, for such a memorable time. I will definitely be back!

Did the evening kayak with our guide Rich. He was incredible and very knowledgeable always putting our safety and fun first. Seen seals and lots of marine life. Rich was always keeping us informed of geography and marine life as we past areas. Delicious snack provided on our beach stop. The company was very up on cleaning standards and all equipment had been sanitized properly.

On a recent visit to Quadra, we dropped by to see about renting kayaks for a couple of hours. The woman working mentioned that they had space that day on their 2pm 3 hour guided tour. As neither of us are very experienced kayakers, we thought that was a fantastic idea, so we signed up. Our guide Rich was wonderful. He told us that the morning tour had encountered some orcas, and he was hopeful that we might too. Apparently the orcas heard us, as they dropped by for a once in a lifetime experience for us! it was pretty incredible and awe inspiring seeing these beauties effortlessly glide past us. Rich was very knowledgeable about the area, and gave us some great tips for kayaking in general. Would 100% book another tour next time we are on Quadra!

An excellent full day on the water (10-4 pm) with a terrific young guide Nick. Lots of sea life visible with humpback whales spouting, a colony of seals checking us out, eagles, herons, starfish, etc.. lunch was a tasty quinoa salad, veggies on the beach... Nick was humourous & knowledgeable and provided great information about the area.. very open to answering all your questions... the company is a small family operation which I highly recommend when on Quadra... give them a shot...

My family and I just completed the full day Kayaking trip with Nick and Richard. It was the highlight of our trip to Quadra Island. The guides were knowlegable and friendly and took us through a seal colony as well a two beaches n the nearby area. The lunch was quite good and healthier than I was expecting from a tour. It was quinoa salad with Humus and veggies. More than enough to keep me going for the entire day.
Next time on Quadra Island we will be returning. Maybe to so the sunset paddles.

We did a day tour with Christian to Turtle Island and Sea Rock. He went above and beyond. Me and my friends had an amazing time and highly recommend doing a tour with them. Was the highlight of my birthday weekend.

Are there RV places to stay nearby on Quadra Island?

Yes there are several campgrounds. The most visited area is all very accessible by a 15
Minute drive in any direction.
I do not know though if u need to prebook camping. It is a very popular destination. All the campgrounds that we saw looked nice and well taken care of. If you have children with you anything on Rebecca Spit has great swimming and long beaches for walking.
