A nice little castle to spend an hour or so looking at very peaceful and tranquil surroundings definitely worth a visit if in the area

It is a beautiful hidden gem with lots of history. The Castle is lovely with a moat surrounding it. It's not huge, but you have a lovely old village/hamlet with a quaint church. The little Cafe was lovely and very friendly.

OK it is a ruin but a very pretty ruin with a proper moat full of water. But it seems a starter castle for a family which might have been expected to move up to a bigger place! A wonderful setting in peace and yet in the middle of a very pretty village with a fine pub, church and teashop.

Beautiful historic castle, great for a free hour or so exploring. Lovely family trip out to explore the castle. There is water filled moat so children need careful supervision.

Lovely setting and your able to walk round recommend a trip back in time too surround by a small moat and a very pretty pocket park too

What a fantastic hidden gem. This is a small castle ruin within the village. Free to walk around. We parked right in front but parking is limited directly outside.

What a beautiful castle, very peaceful and remote, a great pub The George and a timeless village. Quintessentially English - it doesn't get any better than this. My NZ girl was with me and adored the whole experience.

Loved this little castle. Free to get in. Set in such a pretty spot with locals ready to welcome us. You can walk around in. Take in the pretty homes and scenery including a lovely river.

ITS FREE!
...one of the most intact castles i have been to, with a moat as well, and its free, and even better there is a car park a 2minute walk away that is also free. Doesn't take long to look around the castle itself but Nunney is quiet little village you can also look around.

On a recent stay in Frome we decided to walk to this picturesque village and its romantic castle. We had had one of the best pub lunches that we have had in quite a while, and this was a lovely spot to sit, take a few photos and let our meal settle before the walk back. Best of all it's free. Well worth the effort.
