We were lucky enough to have a cuddle with Elsa the koala and it was so adorable. We fed the wallaby’s and had the paddock all to ourselves. We even saw two joeys. We saw some hilarious animals including an echidna that was cuddling a goanna! With kids it was perfect with such a wide range of animals to interest them ( although the park is perfect for any age.) It is clear that those animals are getting such good care and this is a really great place to go to.

This is such a special place. We did the private tour, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Our guide took us everywhere and provided such cool information about the animals and sanctuary! He was so knowledgeable, and very patient with us when we didn’t want to put the animals down. Going into the hospital was incredible- we got to meet a baby koala!! It was truly a wonderful day- one will we never forget!

De kangaroos hebben een prima verblijf en kunnen vrijwillig naar je toe komen als zij dat willen..
De andere verblijven vond ik erg klein en zielig. Een koala aaien met een grote groep toeristen er omheen vind ik verschrikkelijk. Het is goed als er dieren worden opgevangen omdat ze niet meer in het wild kunnen leven, maar op deze manier voelt het voor mij meer als een dierentuin met te kleine verblijven dan een opvang.

Excellent place to feed Kangaroos, wallabys and cuddle a koala. Great staff, and place vers clean and well maintained. The best spot on KI for me.

What a wonderful place. An amazing expertise getting really close to wildlife. The staff are fabulous and passionate-they look after so many rescues and really love the animals. Highly recommended.

Worth every single penny spent, the private wildlife tour is absolutely the best thing we did in the whole of Australia. Our guide was phenomenal, we got up close to all of the animals and listened to all of our questions and requests and showed us everything. The wildlife parks cares for animals and does a fantastic job healing and looking after all animals. Would go again and again. Worth more than 5 stars.

The # 1 reason to visit here is they provide shelter and healing for any animal injured or displaced in the wild. Sure, they have some permanent residents but mainly they care for injured wildlife and then release them.
In line with that, this is not some fancy zoo - it is a working reserve with many activities going on daily by staff who are feeding animals, cleaning or giving demonstrations.
The size is compact and very varied - I doubt any kids would get bored when they can see penguins in a pool, a Wedge Tail Eagle in all its' glory, Meercats on guard, Dingo's being Dingo's and birds free flying in a walk-through cage.
I see someone mentioned small cages - yes, I agree but I believe that is due to injury in the case of birds, so they would do more harm to themselves if able to attempt to fly.
It's not a full day thing, but we did the Serval enclosure feeding and spoke with a lady a long way from her BBQ brisket when close up with Koala's.
I thought this was a great place, not the least for caring for the animals and putting some action in to support them.

I think this would be one of the top wildlife parks in Australia- many different types of animals, all easily seen in their enclosures, very friendly staff, good enclosures and environment for the wildlife. Especially loved feeding the wallabies and kangaroos

How do you get to Kanagroo Island from Sydney

You can fly to Adelaide then fly to Kangaroo Island, or you can hire a car from Adeliade and drive there yourself (But you need to book the ferry for the car well ahead for both ways). There are bus tours that can take you to Kangaroo Island from Adelaide - look up SeaLink for ideas. I live in Melbourne, so we drove along the Great Ocean road then along the coast line of South Australia, stopping along the way at various great spots, then onto the car ferry over to Kangaroo Island. We stayed for 5 nights and did the Parks Tour Pass - there is heaps to do and this pass is so worth the money. People are great and friendly. Worthwhile a trip. Enjoy yourself.

Portions of it would be but my suggestion would be to contact Exceptional Kangaroo Island tours and get a full understanding. It is a beautiful island like no other and this tour operator is indeed Exceptional!

I highly recommend Exeptional Kangaroo Island tours. We did an around the world trip and this tour operator was the best we experienced on our trip anywhere.

Si, pagando ovviamente, ti fanno prendere in braccio il Koala (Elsa nel nostro caso) e puoi fare anche le foto (tra tutti i Wilde life park che ho visitato che proponevano questa cosa questo è sicuramente il migliore di tutti)

Currently as of August 2017 the Koala holding sessions are $20 per person to hold the Koala and take photos with your own camera.
