Our car was on the Kurisumala gate at 4:58 PM and we saw the watchman close the gate right in front of us at 4:58 PM when the closing time is actually 5 PM.
We asked him to let us in as we were there before closing time but he did not allow us saying in his watch it was 5.02 PM (his watch was clearly running ahead of actual time).
I showed him my watch with the real time and still he said his watch says 5.02 PM so cant allow. We had to return back as a result.
Here there are 2 big problems in his actions
1) Being ignorant to actual time
2) Being inconsiderate to tourists feelings. One can argue on HUMANITARIAN grounds that even if in his watch we were 2 mins late he should have allowed us in anyway.
In conclusion,
We feel that this was extremely inconsiderate behaviour from the watchman towards tourists who have come from far away and tourists who are not at any fault whatsoever to bear his hurtful behaviour.
His behaviour caused us a lot of agony.
I hope this does not happen to other tourists in the future and I hope they take remedial actions in this regard.

This is a perfect place for relaxation and calmness. Just loved this place.. Farm house is not opened to public now due to covid19

When people talk about hills in Kerala, they generally mention Munnar, Thekkady or even Wayanad, but we rarely hear the name Vagamon. A small town, in idukki district, Vagamon or Wagamon, is a hidden gem of Kerala and one you must travel to, specially on a road trip or with friends. With picturesque trails, hikes, waterfalls & off-roading, this hill station has something for everyone but at the heart of it all, just pure nature in it's prime.

Kurushumala hills is a Christian pilgrimage center in Vagamon. Apart fro that, this is also an excellent trekking site in Vagamon. The hike starts at Kallillakavala (Kurisumala base). As you trek up, there are 14 crosses (known as 'Way of the cross') at regular intervals on the hill. There is a small church on top.
The trek is a bit hard and is not for those with health problems. But the view form the top is unbeatable. The cool breeze atop will take away all the tiredness.
Near the hills there is an ashram, home of Christian monks and a dairy farm managed by the monks.
The place is frequented by tourists all through the year. On Good Friday and Easter season many followers do the trek up Kurusumala carrying wooden cross as a pilgrimage.

Windy mountain with amazing views.you need to climb a bit but the walk is worth it.stunning sunset and sunrise.please chose an appropriate non foggy day

There's a 115 years old small church on the top of a rocky hill. We have to climb the hill for about 1.5 kms to reach the top.
There are no steps to climb the rocks. So it's not advisable for senior citizens to visit this place.

Surrounding sceneries are breathtaking are worth to watch. Those who have stamina can try climbing the hill top. For young guys it is worth a try in the morning hours. Near to this there are few more viewing points and hills for viewing the beautiful greeneries. Windy during our visit. So it is advisable to have some warm clothing during December trip.

The mountains are too step and doesn't have any steps to climb. Highly not recommended for family with elderly people or with toddlers who can't climb. It has close to 7 stops on the way while climbing and the wind is too harsh. Be careful while descending.

Hi ppl, Is there any hospital in vagamon? My kid has recently got seizure and I k scared to travel to this place since it's very interior.. We booked a resort already though.. Pl pour in ur suggestion..
Can one stay there for a few days of silent prayer? What are the facilities? What is the cost?
