The scenes of the real Kolkata and surrounds are represented here. This is not a simple tourism guide to the sights. This covers more ground and insight into the lives and experiences of Kolkata more than we could have thought possible in such a short time. We could have lived here for five years and never seen so much. This experience has left me starstruck and given me a lot of perspective.
Anirban was our guide. He was insightful, thorough, thoughtful, and genuine. He was the quintessential old intellectual Calcutta personified. He lived and breathed the culture of this region.
This was the first time I had ever been to Kolkata, and all I can think about is how much I want to come back.
I will treasure this always.

It has been as awesome experience to go for an exclusive Calcutta photography Walk with Ariban.
What I like the most us his patience & helping me to get the right frame for my photographs. He knows in & out of Calcutta and exactly knows the apt photography spots to cover in quick time frame.
Now I eagerly looking forward to experiencing an another exclusive walk in Darjeeling anytime soon.

Being greatly satisfied with Anirban's Darjeeling Walks, I opted for another set of heritage walks and immersive cultural experiences with Anirban in other parts of West Bengal.
Though a specialist in Kolkata, Anirban also organized various customized walks in Sunderbans, Purulia, Bishnupur, Murshidabad, Bolpur and Malda. The history of the monuments and the cultural importance of the heritage sites were beautifully narrated during the tour.
Besides the informative walks, local interactions, dining experiences and cultural activities, Anirban was also very helpful in planning the tour and organizing logistics.

It was wonderful experience with you all . We have travelled various aristocratic pujo of the city . Very good travel mode and very good guide . We'll managed and we'll organised.

Even after growing up in Calcutta, I was flabbergasted by the beautiful ‘badis’ or aristocratic houses which celebrated puja in a very different way than what I have seen before. Each courtyard said a story, each murti or idol was unique to the family and traditions. It was an honor being invited into people’s homes and part take in what usually is an intimate affair, taste the traditional bhog usually reserved for family members. Ofcourse, Anirban and his team are experts in making one feel welcome and talk about the finest details in a casual conversational way that will leave you more familiar with your own hometown! If you are looking for a truly local experience this central/ north calcutta bonedi bari trail should not to be missed. It is truly the birthplace of what UNESCO has labelled as an intangible heritage site. Morso, the fellow explorers all have interesting stories that truly connect you together in this immersive cultural experience. Do account for an entire day for this experience. Happy Pujas readers.

I signed up for three trails - exploring Indo-Danish heritage of Serampore, French heritage of Chandernagore, and a food trail of lesser known places in south Calcutta - over two days. The team picked me up from my stay, it was a comfortable drive and the half-day trips were packed with six-seven stops each. Anirban and his colleague Pranajit were both excellent guides, curating really fascinating stopovers and sites to visit, going beyond just what's mentioned as theme/title of the trails and packing in extra stuff. Serampore trail, especially was a revelation, since I also got to meet a very interesting personality and it was a really immersive experience. There's so much heritage that exists just on the outskirts of the city of Kolkata and I am very happy that Bengal By The Hooghly is making efforts to showcase it. Anirban also took effort to customise the food trail, going beyond just south Calcutta and helping me explore diverse tastes and food joints. I liked the flexibility of this food trail, since we also split it over two days because I was extremely full before we could finish it. This was really worth the price and made my Calcutta trip much more fun and enriching.
