‪It's about 35+ km from Sirsi. The scenes Along the road are nice. The road quality is better, you won't have to ride any off road here, the sign boards are placed on every diversion. The real fun starts from the parking area. When I went there I was the only person out there.
To get the view, govt have constructed proper stairs, railing & eventually a platform.
If you want to get close to falls it's a Hell yeah trek. The most exhausting trekking I have done yet. Be careful while trekking, one wrong step and you might end up falling 50-100 ft.‬

‪The place is located about 37 Ksm from Siris. Road till last 3-4 Kms is good. Trekking path is bit steep and is turns out to be bit difficult in some stretch. During summer fallen dry leaves are covered all over the path and one should be careful while trekking as these leaves are slippery too. It required around 2 to 2 30 hours to get down and around 2 hours to climb back.
Overall its a nice falls, but as we had been here in summer, there was not much water in the falls.‬

‪Shivaganga is a beautiful waterfall located in an area of thick forest on the river Sonda in Uttara Kannada. The trail to Shivagange falls is infamous for its fatalities. Not at all a good idea to visit alone!!!!‬

‪Me and my cousin brother visited this place on bike from Sirsi. The road to this place is very remote and you don't find anything on the way after a particular point. The road gets more and more dangerous as you close down towards the falls. We survived many nervous moments during the ride. On the contrary we went to this place during rain season due to which the roads over there had turned slippery and also it is very steep so we needed no acceleration of the bike which could give you a fair idea about how slippery and narrow it could have been, also the curves that are there on these roads are just unimaginable which adds to its danger. Atlast we somehow reached the falls. Then the falls are also very dangerous, I would recommend not to go till the bottom of the falls or also near the stream and please please please never even for once think about swimming here. The pace of the water is very unpredictable which you could identify very easily from a distance as well. Overall no facilities are there around this place also you don't get phone network here. There are different levels to watch falls and I recommend you to watch it from the topmost level at least during rainy season because it is from there where you get the best view and you get a chance to exclaim the word WOW. If you are thinking of visiting this place it would be a challenge and a dangerous adventure to reach over there but you should come here after taking such a risk only to treat your eyes with the beauty of the nature and nothing more.‬

‪very nice one, risky to visit in rainy season, some says crocodiles are there in, but we did not found, we have to get down to watch the falls in thick forest, you get nothing there, have to take your own, watch tower is there for watching it from away but if you want to enjoy it have to get down but its very down, by coming up you will be tired, vehicles go up to the falls viewing point. but in rainy season going down is very dangerous. you can see this falls scene in nammura mandaara hoove kannada movie. ‬

‪My mother was looking gracefully in green saree and divinely in dark red saree. We, her children, used to feel as if she resembled Mother Goddess Saraswathi. My mom left us in 1971, but what made me remember her so much today. Because I am viewing the waterfalls called Shivaganga falls near Sirsi from a distance amidst the dark green forest. I feel as if Mother Nature looks divinely beautiful in this green clad and no part of the country is so attractively exposed than this scenario, calling her children to embrace with great passionate love and affection. Oh! Mother Goddess I salute you thousands and thousands times for bringing my mother’s picture before me here at your tender feet fanning cool breeze which I never felt, experienced or had before. My immense thanks with humblest pranams to you, Oh! Mother how much happy I am! Not able to neither explain nor put it on paper in words of expression. If at all I do so, or did so in the past, it is entirely due to the kind grace of Mother Goddess Saraswathi and the wish of my sacred mother who gave me birth. She left us on 8.8.1971 and thereafter exactly one year one month and one day ie on 9.9.1972 I got my first son Babu Puttanna. It is a wonderful magic play of dates in my life. This is not just coincident or magic but miracle in date because there are several such combinations of dates in my life. My second son died on his fifth day on 10.10.1974. My father died on 9.9.1979, I was born on 20/21.4. 1940 at 1.30 am. According to Gregorian calendar it is on 21st but as per Hindu panchanga the day ends at 2.am. Thus my DOB is 20.4.1940 while English Calendar says as 21.4,1940. There are few other dates of controversies and magic playing their part in my life.
Shivaganga falls, near Sirsi (35km) is surrounded by rich green forest. It is unique waterfalls situated between three taluks Sirsi, Yellapur and Ankola in Uttara Kannada district on Western Ghats. It is formed by the river Shalmala (also called Sonda River) hurriedly falling from 74m height in steps in to a deep valley covered with ever green flora presenting a feast to our eyes by its charming view.
This is very beautiful that offers thrilling view of water falling into natural pond. Some members in our team enjoyed swimming in this natural pool under the overwhelming waterfall. Next level is attractive because of its lovely location amidst dense and beauty of exposed enchanting beauty of nature in this thick forests. Trekkers have an opportunity to venture in trek while climbing down. It is something like walking and taking help of ropes to climb down.
We see Lord Ganesha temple in a small island near the falls known as Ganeshpal Island. It can be visited to walk around to have pleasant view of nature at its best with all calmness of divinity.
To reach Shivaganga falls from Sirsi there is no proper road. After covering motorable road from Hulekal to Sampigadde near Mensi village, we have to cross the wide forest to reach this spot. You can go by bus till Jaddigadde. From this point waterfall is at 2-3km.
Shivaganga Falls is at 452Km (8 hrs journey) from Bangalore. June-November is pleasant to visit.
Nearest airport to Sirsi is Hubli, nearest rail head is Kumta, Sirsi is about 44km from Shivaganga falls. Sirsi is well connected by road network to other cities. Better stay at Sirsi or Kumta, carry food pockets and water.‬

‪Great place in midst of western ghat. lace is around 35 km from Sirsi. Place is deep inside the forest and away from general population hence no pollution. Magnificient view from above , even better if you can climb down in small forest root and get to the bottom(around 1 hr climbing). Waterfrount near falls is very deep and dangerous to swim so be careful and do not go for the swim there. ‬
