The town has no wifi or credit machine. So, bring cash if you want to buy anything. The locals try to charge entry to Beach... Just say you don't have cash. No swimming really and parts of the water are dirty with trash. The town is somewhat clean, but not much for food options. Not worth the hour boat trip.

Pari island is great location to holiday with your friends or family. There are many destination like Pasir Perawan beach, snorkling place, camp area, etc. And also you can get around the Pari Island using bycle. In the morning you can enjoyed sunrise in Pasir Perawan beach, you can take a picture with your friends, playing volley ball, and enjoy a cup coffee.

Zeker het bezoeken waard. Pari heeft 2 mooie zandstranden. Virgin beach erg toeristisch. ( wel mooi aangelegd)
Starbeach( Bintang Beach ) heeft onze voorkeur. Rustige vibe. Heerlijke hangmatten. Mooi uitzicht. Als je van snorkelen houdt huur dan een bootje.
De mensen van het eiland brengen je dan naar het koraalrif.
Triest is wel dat de inwoners van Pari nog weinig besef hebben van de schade die ze zelf aanrichten aan hun koraal. Ze laten de toeristen op het koraal staan en helpen zelf mee om de perfecte selfie te kunnen maken.
Hier ligt nog wel een belangrijke taak van de overheid om de mensen bewust te maken van de duurzaamheid van hun eigen eiland en koraal.
De stranden worden elke dag netjes geveegd. Al het vuil wat aan komt spoelen vanuit Jakarta wordt netjes opgeruimd.
Jammer dat de mensen niet het hele eiland schoon houden. Misschien een idee om dit met de kinderen te doen. Activiteit onder schooltijd. Zo maak je de kinderen ook bewust van het mooie wat dit eiland te bieden geeft en hoe belangrijk het is om je eigen eiland( en de zee) schoon te houden.
We hebben hier een hele fijne vakantie gehad en kunnen het mooie eiland ook echt aanbevelen. De mensen zijn ontzettend vriendelijk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip of 3 days to Pari Island - it is very much off the beaten track for International Tourists and it gives you a 'Real Life' feel of the Indonesian people and their culture. Local Food at Virgin Beach is great and very in-expensive and we had a wonderful snorkel experience off the coast at Virgin Beach.
The Boat Ride and the Homestay was fantastic as you travel and stay with the local people, which is a preference of ours, but you need to have a 'Basic Needs' approach and not expect the luxuries of Bali. I would advise a boat trip from Kali Adem with one of the old, slow boats - rather than a speed boat from Marina Ancol; only if you are interested in an authentic experience with the locals.
The Boat Ride and the Homestay was fantastic as you travel and stay with the local people, which is a preference of ours, but you need to have a 'Basic Needs' approach and not expect the luxuries of Bali. Its amazing that it seems like the chain of populated islands is well known among the locals for weekend gateway and team building but not to foreigners and expats whose ideas of Indonesia is limitied to Bali, while there are actually diversity in the 17,000 islands that makes up Indonesia.
Anyway, its quite easy to go to the few tourist friendly islands via Ancol Jetty. You have to come early before 8am to get a ticket and wait at the cafe until your ferry and boat is called upon and takes the good sized ferry about an hout to reach Pari island after a stopover or two. Its best to make a prior arrangement but there are plenty of inns and homestay to see which part of the island. At just about few km length , bicycle renting is the preferable mode of transport.
There are just 2 main beaches and one actually well maintained with gondola for rental to see the nearby mangrove growths. Then arrange for half a day trip to a nearby dive and sborkelling site. There are shipwreck dive site also for the more afventurous sciba divers. Food is cheap and fresh, you can even atrange for a grilled seafood of catch of the day.
Spending a night or two is best there and definitely getting a welcome break from tge busy and hectic life in Jakarta.

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stopover on this beautiful Island. Afew things I liked were all the bikes to ride around the island. The 2 lovely beaches especially the main big one. You can go on a sunset boat ride around the mangroves which I highly recommend. There is plenty of authentic Indonesian simple food to eat. Also can go snorkelling. Anyone in Jakarta should visit if have time as it's only a 1.5 hour boat ride.

Pari Island est l'une des îles à visiter absolument si vous avez plus que 4 jours à jakarta, un départ matinal à 08 h du matin chaque matin via des bateau rapide depuis le port de la MARINA ANCOL, qui est en même temps un endroit à visiter à votre retour, avec son téléphérique , ses restaurants et espaces de détente, la marinée est l'une des meilleure destination de la capitale , un passage au restaurant BANDAR JAKARTA ANCOL est également à ne pas regretter.

Visited quite a few islands, currently in Pari island now, is one if not the Cleanest so far. Today was cloudy but not raining so it's a perfect overcast. Seen few foreign tourist around, majority of course the local jakartans and bunch of Millennials, surprisingly they are not too loud, we'll see how it is tonight.
The natural layout of the virgin Beach (Pantai Perawan) was the best of the island has to offer. Spent morning till late afternoon here. It wasn't crowded as most people take the Ferry and will get here by noon, that's when the outbound group starting to show up. But the beach and space is large enough and people a well spread out.
By 2:30 pm low tide sets in and we went to the other side of the island, to Star Beach (Pantai Bintang). Lots of star fish, Small!!, But they're everywhere. As you go into the water, for sure you will step on a few, perhaps Killed a few, not sure.
Not much to do in Star Beach, but the kids were more excited chasing crabs more than the star fish.
It's a good island, but if you are foreigner, don't expect much, and just sticks to the virgin Beach.
Food wise, cheap, and the usual fish, calamary and fried rice should do the trick for your tummy.
To get here, speed boat! From Ancol. 1.5 hour and more time in the island.

The boats from Ancol Marina one-way costs approx. 2x the boats from Muara Angke. What they organized is not 'private charter' boats though :) Hope this helps.
