‪الضفة الغربية جورج إذا والجمال الطبيعي. السير عبر ساحر الجمال ولكن بحكمة! يمكنك القيام قصيرة أو طويلة. رجاء ضع فى اعتبارك الحرارة أن أغطية الرأس مع الكثير من المياه. سوف تحتاج أيضا بارتداء أحذية سير معقولة. هذا يجب أن تقوم بها المذهل ولكن تأكد من لديهم إمكانات جسدية.‬

‪Vi var här i juni 2018. Mycket krävande men underbar vandring. Se till att ha med matsäck och flaskor att ta vatten i. Det finns kranar att fylla på i under vandringen. Ni kommer att ha megaträningsvärk i flera dagar. Lägg det i slutet av resan.‬

‪Great Walk‬

‪My wife and I completed this walk in 2022 and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys walking in the outdoors as there are spectacular views en route. The walk starts near Omalos and you head downwards along a zig-zag path to reach the gorge floor. We started early leaving the hotel at about 7am arriving back in the evening at 7pm - a good 12 hours! but it was probably the best memory of our week in Crete as it's a 'must-do'. If I were to do it again I would consider staring at the bottom and traverse upwards to the top as this would be a good challenge.
I would recommend this walk to anyone who would like a change from sitting by the pool all day, and this way you can connect with the beautiful island of Crete.‬

‪The best hike in Crete‬

‪This place is stunningly beautiful! We went there in mid-May, so the weather was perfect for hiking as it was not too hot. The hike starts at Omelos (getting there is also an adventure - you are surrounded by the most amazing mountains and valleys) and it takes a few hours to complete (I think, in total, it took us 6 hours, but we always take lots of photos and stop to admire views wherever we go). It’s not very challenging, but it is a long hike, you have to cross the river many times. The gorge itself offers the most magnificent, breathtaking views.‬

‪Challenging but rewarding ‬

‪This hike was definitely more than I was expecting. I thought I was going for a wander through the woods, boy was I wrong.
Whilst this was challenging, I was able to enjoy and complete the trail.
This is the one thing I did during my holiday that I want to repeat.
The gorge is picturesque.
There were plenty of places to fill my water bladder and plenty of people willing to take pictures for me.
Sometimes the route wasn't exactly clear with which way to go but you can just follow others.
The ground is very rocky so take good hiking boots with ankle support, mine saved me from a sprain a few times.
Sticks are also helpful.
And be sure that you take toilet paper with you as the toilets can be few and far between.
If all else fails there are pack mules to carry you out if needed. ‬

‪Beautiful but major caveats‬

‪This was a pretty challenging hike for non-hikers! It's mostly downhill with lots of big, loose rocks so hiking boots are definitely your safest bet (although I saw people of all ages doing fine in sneakers). The only way out is through, so if you change your mind or injure yourself, you have to keep pressing forward. There is also something of a timeclock once you enter as there are only a few end of day ferries that can get you back, so I would advise starting pretty early or else you risk being stranded overnight. It's a beautiful place, but that ticking clock really prevents you from doing anything but just pressing through. They sell the most amazing orange juice at the end of the trail and the ferry ride home is beautiful, but definitely pack your own water and snacks because there was nowhere to obtain them on the journey.‬

‪Incontournable, même si très fréquenté. Cette longue balade dans les gorges de Samaria, longue de 16km, réserve de magnifiques points de vue. On part tôt le matin en bus de Khania (La Canée) et on arrive à Agir Roumeli, d'où on prend un bateau pour retourner le soir à La Canée. Tous les billets peuvent être achetés à la gare routière de La Canée (sauf celui de l'entrée du parc national qui se fait sur place).
Au début de la balade, qui se fait dans le sens descendant, on est dans la forêt, puis on arrive en fin de parcours dans la partie la plus belle, un passage entre de très hautes falaises. Il n'est pas inutile de se préparer en amont, car, vu que la marche se fait en descendant, les genoux encaissent un maximum. Bonnes chaussures de marche recommandé, mais aussi des genouillères, et attendez-vous à avoir quelques courbatures les jours suivants, mais vous ne regretterez pas votre balade, et surtout prenez votre temps, le bateau ne part qu'à 17h30.‬

‪Wij hebben deze trip gemaakt met een tourbus. Deze kwam ons ophalen voor het hotel en bracht ons tot aan het vertrek punt.
De eerste 4 km gaat zeer snel bergaf. Je vertrekt boven met veel toeristen tegelijkertijd wat ervoor zorgt dat je soms moeilijker kan je eigen tempo wandelen.
Maar wat een mooie omgeving.
Wij droegen wandelschoenen maar toch enkele keren de enkel omgeklonken op de ongelijke ondergrond. Zeer voorzichtig zijn is wel de boodschap. Indien je in de problemen zou komen staan de ezels wel klaar om je toch naar beneden te brengen.
Wij wandelden goed door. Namen enkel in Samaria een echte rustpauze om iets te eten.
Tegen het einde aan merkte ja vooral dat je mentaal moe was. Dit aangezien je de hele tijd zeer aandachtig moet zijn waar je loopt. Fysiek is het een beproeving maar iedereen die in de ardennen een stevige wandeling aankan kan dit ook. De natuur is zo mooi en overweldigend dat je het fysieke vergeet.
Eens uit de kloof is het nog 2 km voordat je het stadje bereikt. Wij deden dit ook nog te voet ook al stonden er wel busjes te wachten.
In het stadje is een fatsoenlijk toilet en verschillende zaakjes om iets te drinken en te eten.
De zee is zeer uitnodigend om je te verfrissen van de tocht. Er zijn kleedhokjes en afspoeldouches ter beschikking. Ze vragen wel dat je daar iets drinkt om deze te gebruiken.
Hierna gingen we de boot op. Je passeert er prachtige afgelegen dorpjes enkel per boot bereikbaar. Dan terug op de bus die ons opnieuw veilig in het hotel afzetten. Wij waren een van de laatste hotels en waren om 21u terug daar.
De volgende dag hadden we wel spierpijn. Ideaal dus om een beetje te rusten en te zwemmen. ‬

‪A faire! Randonnée exceptionnelle!‬

‪Cette randonnée est exceptionnelle. Elle nécessite une certaine organisation, de bonnes chaussures (c’est toujours mieux car beaucoup de cailloux, en même temps c’est la montagne ) et accepter d’avoir quelques courbatures les jours d’après, mais elle en vaut vraiment le coup!
Nous nous étions organisés par nous même en prenant la voiture jusqu’au point de départ de la randonnée à Omalos (parking payant ou gratuit plus haut mais très vite pris d’assaut). La veille nous avions aussi réservé le bateau et le bus de retour (sur le site de Anendyk). Nous avons eu la chance de la faire fin octobre où il y a beaucoup moins de monde.
Nous avons l’habitude de marcher et nous avons fait la randonnée sans trop forcer en 4 heures environ avec un arrêt plus long pour le déjeuner.
La première partie de la randonnée est très agréable dans les pins, les cailloux. Le chemin est super bien entretenu. Après le déjeuner nous sommes repartis et là arrivent les véritables gorges. Absolument époustouflant. On se sent minuscule au milieu de cette nature exceptionnelle. Ce n’est pas un balade simple mais elle en vaut vraiment la peine.‬

‪An excellent long walk with some difficult sections. A long down hill to start but once you get to the valley floor it is not flat underfoot like some guides suggest. Sensible shoes area must. It is easy to do it you self if you have a hire car. Go to the visitor centre when you get to the entrance, and you can book the boat out at the end and the connecting bus back to the carpark at the start (you get the second boat back that gets in first!)‬
