‪No one should miss this temple and it was amazing. Situated with hills around and river passing through and the Lord Narasimha seated in a cave. We went on the festival period and it was too crowded but the crowd was orderly and it was great to see the village decked up and celebrating the Narasimha Jayanthi the birth star of the Lord, I was excited to be in the tample and I and my family got the vibration that was sought after. It was only three hours drive from Vijayawada and the roads were good . Despite the crowd the darshan was fantastic and the priests were so patient and was never hurrying up. This place I love to go again‬

‪Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, an ancient one, on the banks of River Krishna is situated at Mattapalli village in Mattampalli Mandal of Suryapet district. It is at a distance of 215 km from Hyderabad and 150 km from Vijayawada and 45 km south of Kodad town on Hyderabad-Vijayawada high way.
This is one of the Pancha (five) Narasimha Kshetras on the banks of River Krishna, the other four being Wadapally (Nalgonda), Vedadri (Krishna), Mangalagiri and Ketavaram (Guntur dt). The presiding Dieties here are Sri Yoga Lakshmi Narasimha, Sri Rajalakshmi Thaayaar, Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Thaayaar.
Maharshi Bharadwaj worshipped the Deity at this place.
The Sanctum is in a cave with a small entrance and one need to bow down his/her head to enter. Above the entrance door is a rock on which is a sculptured motif of beautiful Gajalakshmi with two elephants on either side. Above that is a motif of Lakshmi Narasimha seated in yoga posture. In the Sanctum the Lord is manifested Himself on a rock and another rock is spread like the hood of a Sesha over it. The Lord’s idol is very small, in sitting posture with four hands holding Sankha and Chakra in upper hands. To His left is a small idol of Prahlada. To the left of the Lord nearby are two small stone images of Sri Lakshmi and Rajyalakshmi. Before the Deity at a lower level are placed Utsava idols. There is an exit door to the right of the Deity which leads to a side hall housing Sri Rajyalakshmi Thaayaar, Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Thaayaar and Alwars in small shrines.
Before the Sanctum is a big hall called Mukha Mandap and at this Mandap is a small shrine with idols of Garuda and Hanuman facing the Deity and behind this shrine and outside is Dhwajasthambha. Devotees do pradakshina to this shrine along with dwajasthambha as there is no way to go around the Sanctum. When Temple is closed for darshan, only the sanctum door is locked and devotees sleep in this Mandap / in the complex. Devotees expressing their desire to the Deity do 32 pradakshinas and on fulfillment of these they revisit the temple and do 32 pradakshinas. Similarly there is a belief that incurable deceases will be cured and childless will beget children if for 11 days they do 32 pradakshinas thrice a day with wet clothes after a dip in the River.
Temple timings : 5.30 am to 12.30 noon and 4.00 to 7.30 pm. Abhishekam takes place at 6 am for which tickets are sold at Rs200 on which two persons are allowed.
One can see the Deity’s viswarup and abhishekam in the sanctum for a while and after a wait of some time they can re enter and see the deities with alankar. Other times an Arati is given, of course one will be close to the deity any time since it is a small cave.
There are Brahmin and Vysya Chowltries in which rooms with basic amenities are available for stay. Free food is served if prior intimation is given. Donations accepted.
There is a Sivalayam near the Temple. Devotees visit this shrine and do pujas.
Parking place is there. Only a small shop with some provisions and puja material available. Devotees should have their medicines / other essentials while coming.‬

‪After drive of 192 km from Yedurigutta, we reached Laxmi Narasimha Swami Temple, Mattapalli. The temple is dedicated to Lord Narsimha.
At the time of our visit, temple was closed but we salute Lord in front of Temple and as there was no authorize person, made photography also. Here Lord Narsimha is known for curing incurable disease and for driving out the evil spirit with certain process explained here after for 11 days. This one of 5 abodes/ Khestra of Narsimha in Andhra named Yedirigutta, Vedadri, Vadapalli, Mattapalli and Mangalagiri. Recommended to those who are of religious nature.‬
