Budapest to Amsterdam - September 9th. 2022
We must have been on a different boat because our whole experience with the Vega was positive. It is a luxurious and well maintained boat with fantastic, dedicated and friendly staff. We could not have asked for better service from every one on board from the sailors who looked after our safety, the cabin crew, the waiters, chefs, reception staff and cruise director.
The captain was great, happy to chat about the boat, the locks, the scenery and the astonishing technology involved in running his very modern boat.
The cabins were superb, lovely size, comfortable bed and a full width window which you could fully open at the press of a switch. Wifi throughout the boat was excellent.
The food was remarkable, available throughout the day and of a very good standard and variety. We loved the evening meals with great waiters and wine served promptly at your table.
The daily excursions were very well organised and had lots of variety.
We don’t want to name any particular member of staff because, in our opinion they are all 5* ambassadors for their employers.

Booked this cruise for 2020 but due to covid we got to do the trip this year. The Vega was a new ship but from day 1 the lift did not work and at no time during the trip did you see anyone try to fix it.
Breakfasts were cold the only hot items were the toast and eggs from the egg station. Not enough staff in the restaurant and the staff that were there were inexperienced.
Dinner you were given a choice and it was in most cases edible small portions but having 3 or 4 courses you did not feel hungry.
The cabin was adequate but the sink in the bathroom had a strange design as the plug did not seal the water in the basin so you had to put the glass over the plughole to keep the water in so you could wash, men could have shave. I thought it was broke so reported it but was told it was a safety design.
The enhanced trips were in some cases a waste of money as due to Labour day holiday the German village you were taken to was closed so basically people were saying they had paid 40 euros for a bus ride.
The trips were rushed and in some cities it would have been better to have overnight stay so you could do more in for example Vienna.
The only positive of this ship was the cleanliness of the cabins and the public areas and the reception staff who were always happy to help.
I had never heard of Travelmarvel until this trip took place and would not recommend a river cruise with them. A very second rate company.

the worst service I have ever seen. We booked a trip to the website two months ago. We arrived on time, but the boat was not there. The guy could not provide information about the departure time. An hour later the ship arrived, but as there were not enough passengers, they were told we had to wait, but there was no information on how much. What was outrageous was the tone and behavior as they were discussed with us. So we finally canceled the trip and could see what we wanted.

Comfortable boat with a super and helpful driver, (Florin), who gave really good insight into the history and sights in the gorge.

השייט מהנה ומרתק. בכניסה למערה הסירה מאטה וממתינים בתור לסירות שנכנסות לדקה ויוצאות מהמערה. מומלץ מאוד גם לזוגות גם לחברים או משפחה

Very good service and super fast boat.
During waiting time you can serve cofee and enjoy the lake.
The owner is very friendly, very good sailor and know the entire history of the place.
From all boats, we recommend Decebalus. Be sure that you will give then a call and reserve the trip in advance.
