‪Morning Peace‬
أبريل 2021
‪Detoured to the lake on route to Rockingham. Peaceful with only the sounds of birds in the early morning. Good boardwalk to the lake and interesting walk trails highlighted. Information signage provided a good summary of the area. Lovely views across the water.‬

‪Interesting with Scenic View ‬
زوجان • أبريل 2021
‪We took a 30 minute drive from Mandurah to visit Lake Clifton. It was well worth a visit. The peaceful surroundings with amazing views across the lake. The Thrombolites are living organism from thousands of years ago. We noticed with the bright blue sky as a back drop and the sun on the water that enhanced their beauty and picturesque nature. ‬

‪Great Lake, boring walk‬
أكتوبر 2020
‪The lake is beautiful with amazing colour of water. The thrombolites are great, but the walk on the side of the lake is boring, definitely the most boring walk I had ever been on.‬

‪Unique & Rare‬
يونيو 2020
‪Lake Clifton is one of the few places in the world where pre-historic organisms still live. There is a fantastic boardwalk built to enable everyone to come and appreciate the thrombolites. When we were there, the tide was just perfect that we could see some submerged in the lake, some covered midway and some totally uncovered. It was wonderful that there is information about the thrombolites at the boardwalk as well at the entrance to the pathway. A must to visit these ancient unique life forms.‬

‪Spectacular colours around the lake in late Oct‬
زوجان • أكتوبر 2019
‪Visited these Thrombolites in late Oct when they were covered in water.
They are still amazing!
As you approach along the wooden boardwalk, you notice that the water is super pale along the foreshore (which is great for photography).
You can still see them clearly through the water.
Lovely spot for selfies 😊.
Easily accessible for the disabled.
Plenty of room in the carpark midweek.
Don't bother with the "lakeside walk" as its not very interesting and covered in spider webs. It's too far back from the lake to get any decent photos. Don't be tempted to go through the shrubs to the lake for photos as there are poisonous snakes in the area. We saw plenty of Emu poo so they are in the area too - be careful. ‬

‪Worth the trip‬

‪We were recommended to visit these ‘Living rocks’ and they were worth the visit. We have searched google to understand the history of these wonderful living organisms before our visit. It is a magical place and and not far south of Mandurah‬

‪Thrombolites broadwalk......a unique experience‬
مايو 2019
‪This place is a hidden gem, especially if you are a nature lover. We were recommended this by information center in Madurah and it was worth a visit. The broadwalk is nicely maintained with explanatory signboards about the significance of Thromobolites. It is surprising that they are live creatures though they look like stones. You can take some extraordinary pictures here as well. I recommend not to miss this place as it is not far from Mandurah.‬

‪Great Photographic Opportunities of an Ancient Lifeform‬
زوجان • يونيو 2017
‪If you drive just past Cape Bouvard Winery you will find a car park near Lake Clifton. If you take the 600m walk you will be richly rewarded with photo opportunities of an ancient life form known as Thrombolites.
About 2,000 years old Thrombolites look like rocks in the lake but are actually ancient forms of microbial communities. They actually carry out photosynthesis producing oxygen. Six hundred million years ago Thrombolites and Stromatolites produced the oxygen necessary for life to exist on Earth. Pretty cool and well worth a look.‬
