Birja mata temple is the least crowded shaktipeeth which I have visited so far. Hence chance of getting nice darshan is very high if you avoid crowded days. Better to go by own car.

Excellent place to visit and get blessings of mother Durga.I have visited Maa Biraja temple with my family and fortunate enough to get darsan of Maa.The entire trip was full of joy and inner spiritual happiness which can not be described in words. If Mata Rani wishes then only you can visit her and get all the blessings. This place is highly charged with energy and a devotee can perceive it if Mother wishes.Request all Shaktas to visit this place and attain enlightenment and sidhi. I am rating Maa Biraja temple as the most powerful Shakti peetha in the entire Universe.

The Maa Biraja Temple is a renowned Shakti peeth located in Jajpur around 125 kilometres north of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Here Godess Durga is worshipped as Girija-Biraja & Lord Shiva as Jagannath. Mother Sati’s navel fell here. Here Maa Biraja Devi is worshiped in her full form as the cosmic trinity as Trishakti Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati.I had a dip in the nearby Vaitarni river after performing pinda Pradhan and visited the Temple. The Temple was overtly crowded with some local function taking place with Lot of drum beating and razzmatazz.found the energy emanating from the presiding devi to be akin to thunderous lightning, but couldn’t get the opportunity for a me time in this temple, because of the crowd. The Maa Biraja Temple covers a large area, and has several shrines to Lord Shiva as well as other deities. the Skanda Purana mentions the purificatory cleansing power of this holy shrine.

The trip from bhuvaneswar to jaipur was arranged with the help of the manager of the odhissa tourism office in panthan nivas bhuvaneswar which was comfortable and helpful by all means. the temple is so divine could feel the vibration of the power of the God biraja , is the shakthi peedam of parvathi where the naval of the shakthi fell. Had famous oddisha sweets like cheeda, rasgolla on the way but were recommended not to buy parcels.enroute visited cuttack chandi mata mandir and had good food at "food masti" in the opposite lane of the cuttuck chandi temple.

Maa Biraja Temple located in Jajpur about 125 kms north of Bhuwaneswar is one of the 18 Shakthipeetas and is a nice temple attracting devotees from all over India.Located in a serene and beautiful place and the Deity fulfils the prayers of the devotees. Not far away but about 145 kms south of Bhuwaneswar is the famous Tara Tarini temple which forms part of the 4 Adhi Shakthipeetas. This agian is an excellent temple and the poojas performed by the purohiths as per the prayers of the devotees is really absorbing and gives a complete satisfaction to the devotees.

Biraja temple is at Jajpur town , which is 31 kilometers away from Jajpur Keonjhar road railway station . There is regular share trekker service to Gariapur Bus stand at Jajpur town . Fare is Rs. 30 per person . From that bus stand share trekker is available for the Mata Biraja temple . Fare is Rs. 10 per person .
Otherwise you can hire an auto from the railway station for to and fro journey. You can also visit Jagannath temple on the bank of Baitarani river .
There are no steps to enter the temple ,as it is on the plains and not on any hill .
