‪This is a lovely shop, and I can't imagine what generated the unfavorable reviews. I have always found the people here to be friendly and amazingly helpful. For a local bookstore, it has an excellent selection if books. I lve bookstores where the staff actually read the books! Recommended.‬

‪Lovely shop‬

‪Friendly, well-stocked and pretty bookshop on the edge of Beckenham town centre. Just opposite a little green so you can take an early peek at your purchases (there are a couple of cafes a few doors down too). I tend to phone in my orders and collect when I'm next in and have always had a warm welcome, even when it's been a few weeks between order and collection.

Highly recommended‬

‪Very unfriendly with a snobby attitude not attractive to the customer‬

‪Went into shop as saw book in window i liked . Went around shop few times didn’t say morning . I made reference to an author of a book to the shop assistant . She could barely acknowledge what i said . I bought my book reluctantly and thought shes so unfriendly and awful at customer service there must be a death in the family !!!! I wont be giving my money again ‬

‪Went in to order a book and buy some other books but the woman working in there was brusque bordering on rude. I really try and support indie book shops and made a trip here specially on the bus rather than buy on-line. Unfortunately I won’t be visiting this shop again. Really disappointed.‬

‪It is a very pleasant book gift and card shop. Whilst it has good stock for its size and friendly service it is not what I would call a speciality shop. However it is nicer to buy books from than large on line stores.‬

‪Friendly local bookshop ‬

‪Beckenham Bookshop is a really great place to browse books and cards for gifts or just occasional purchases. The selection is impressive for a small shop, including adult and children's books, as well as some genre titles. They can also order books on demand. A fantastic local resource that should be supported. ‬

‪You get a loyalty card and there is a well presented selection of new titles. I particularly like London section and the travel and also the calendars and cards.‬
