This is a gallery with a modest amount of space and an even smaller space for local art work on sale. However, it's great benefit is that it's just next door to the Art Gallery/Museum so if you going there, it's worth calling to Tactile Arts.

A great craft gallery right next to the Museum & Art Gallery of the NT. Good for browsing or buying a unique gift.

Tactile Artsですがノーザンテリトリー博物美術館のすぐ近くにあります。こじんまりとした建物ですが建物前に看板があり奇抜なデザインの絵などが屋外展示されているのですぐに解ります。
小さな美術館と言う事になりますが覗いてみたくなるそんな感じがしますよ！
こちらも市内周遊の赤バスで行けます。博物美術館に行かれたらぜひ！！

really worth a look if your in the neighbourhood visited the NT museum and art gallery. they really support everyday artists here. love it

My favourite was the exhibition put on by people with special needs. I have a lovely booklet to keep of a description of each artist and their work. Also been to many other exhibitions, by S Kendall and S Lancaster both women having nature themed art works, leaning their work to books and sculpture. Tactile Arts is an avenue for local silk screen artists to display their work. Keep an eye out for exhibitions.

I visited the Tactile Art Gallery before heading off to the Museums and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory. Evidently the Tactile Arts building was constructed after Cyclone Tracy as a way to bring people together again and rebuild the community.
It's located in a small building just a short walk away from the Museum it offers a collection of local artwork. I was slightly disappointed it was so small as I was all done in a short time which is totally unusual for me as I love Art.
Tuesday – Friday 10.00am – 4.00pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 4pm

This arts centre is a hive of creativity and a great place to view some awesome art. They do courses here, as well as sell art. It's a great place, and even better when there is an market on. Highly recommended.

Tactile Arts has regular exhibitions by local artists who are innovative and creative, often relating to the local environment. It offers a great opportunity to buy unusual gifts as well to simply admire the artists' skills.
Although very near to the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT, it is a separate institution.
Those who are of an artistic bent, and are staying in Darwin for a short, or long, while should check out the classes and workshops that are available for very reasonable prices. I've done several and had a great time at each.
