Waterfall Gully is equally exciting in winter particularly if it has rained. The falls are lovely. There is a lovely walking trail through to the Mount Lofty summit although it is pretty steep in parts but very pretty. There is not any camping.

There's a picturesque waterfall at the bottom, there are a couple of nice scenic spots with a view of the city on the way up, a couple of 'pretty glades' as well but the best place would be at the lookout at the top overlooking the city - if you're game enough to do it in front of a crowd. Good Luck!!! My wife says it would be more romantic if you asked her at night with the city lights twinkling. You'd probably have to drive up for that - too dangerous to walk up. Perhaps you could take her to the restaurant first - that would be very cool.

It's free. Re children depends on age I suppose - the waterfalls are pretty and the first one is right near the carpark. Have to hike/walk to get to the rest and it's quite steep/tough in some parts.

You can get internet connection but it is not reliable There is a nice café near the falls at the bottom and they might have wifi, but I don't know for sure - it is called Utopia café If you walk up the main track to Mt Lofty there is the Mt Lofty summit café and restaurant - also they might have a connection

So sorry that nobody replied and by now you probably do not need that answer - but in case anyone else is reading this - yes - you can catch a 147 Bus from the city which stops outside the Basecamp café - very nice coffee there. From there it is a 4.5 km walk up the waterfall gully road with a nice footpath next to the road which follows First Creek. When you get to the park you can have another coffee! at the Utopia café.

So sorry that you did not receive an answer in good time but in case anyone else is reading this - very sorry that you cannot swim in the waterfall - it is not a safe swimming spot and the water is not sufficiently clean because it flows down from the hills face where there are often sheep. It is still a lovely place to visit - there are bandicoots, echidnas and many birds. Also a tiny mouse like creature called an antechinus. Also the waterfall does not flow strongly except in winter because we are in the driest state on the driest continent! Water is very scarce.
