Windsor Railway Station dates from 1859. It's period construcion is quite attractive. The station serves the Sandringham line. The polychrome bricks are characteristic of mid-Victorian public buildings. A siding once connected Windsor Station to St Kilda, but that is long gone.

It is a beautiful old station with multi-coloured bricks and iron lace work. A pleasant railway line and some interesting history here with the Windsor Siding, which once formed a link to St Kilda.

This is a old style architectural design building. Nothing special. You can catch a train here.Not a tourist attraction.

What can one say about an old railway station.....has not been modernised so is not tha appealing, however the trains do come on time , mostly!

Windsor Station is on the suburban Sandringham Line. The station, on the city side, is a survivor of the times when people took pride in their railways. Windsor is now gentrified, it was once an industrial area,, like nearby South Yarra. The station is built of red bricks, offset with white tuck pointing, which has survived the years remarkably well.

The location is good with a short walk to tram stops in Chapel Street and to Dandenong Road. The architecture is historic, but behind the facade much has deteriorated. Station services are not good with waiting rooms and toilets closed to travelers.

the station is nice enough. its whats nearby thats amazing. the windsor siding amd nearby artists lane feature some of the best street art in melbourne

The buildings are an excellent example of 19th century rail architecture and easily accessed by ramps thus avoiding stairs. The station is just off both Chapel Street and Dandenong Road and the train to the city is much faster than taking a tram.

By Australian standards this is an old railway station. It opened in 1859. It is on the Victorian Heritage Register and is recognised as having historical-cultural significance. If you're near the station why not try using it? Trams along Chapel Street can be annoyingly slow and far apart, and a train trip is usually quicker.
