If you are looking for a cold drink, or want to spend some time playing the pokies, then the Shanghai Club is for you. The Shanghai Club is in the heart of Chinatown. The pokies seem to pay out regularly. By the way, the Shanghai Club is cash only. Entry is free.

The Shanghai Club welcomes visitors, who can have a drink or play the poker machines, or both. The drinks are quite inexpensive; it's cash only, and no take-out alcohol. It's a relatively small venue, and the staff are friendly.

The Shanghai Club is a friendly bar, where the beer is inexpensive. The intention is that you have a few beers while you play the pokies. "Pokies" is short for "poker machines." I never play the machines, but the staff are always happy to see me.

I often call in to the Shanghai Club when I'm in Chinatown, with some time to kill. The staff are always friendly and the beer is cold. The Shanghai Club is popular with punters, who play the pokies. By the way, it's cash only and there is no takeaway alcohol. The beer is quite inexpensive.

I called in for a beer prior to meeting my wife for dinner.
The venue is located in Chinatown, has a small bar earea and has a lot more space allocated to the poker machines.
They have a special of $5.50 pots of Carlton Draught.
The Asian server is a little gruff and could smile a little.
Ambiance also could do with some improvement.

The Shanghai Club is in China Town, no far from Swanston Street. I occasionally drop in for a beer, which is cheap, but I never, ever play the pokies. Most people drop in to indulge in some form of gambling. Drinkers are not very popular, because the gamblers subsidise the cheap beer.

For me, the Shanghai Club's main drawcard is its icy-cold beer, which is sold at a bargain price. The Shanghai Club also has lots of pokies in the back, which are also popular. As I never play the pokies, it's of no interest to me. The entrance has a number of betting machines, allowing punters to bet on the NBA and so on. I find the Shanghai Club a tad dingy, but whatever floats your boat. By the way, the drinks are cash only.

It's your standard bar with pokie machines in the back. Not flash but you can get a cheap beer during Happy Hour.

Stopped by for a drink, they pulled my beer, saw the cc and said cash only. I walked out. Went 200 mtr further up the hill to a great pub on car of Russell
