‪I was fortunate to have a night visit here, and found it really beautiful. I had never seen it totally completed and thought the finished building stunning. ‬

‪We went to see Teeks live in concert and I feel like I got two for the price of one, beautiful venue and wairua. Make sure you take time to go to this venue. STUNNING‬

‪NZ Beautiful‬

‪We attended a Handel Opera here. This is a great performance space but is still an operational place of worship. The stained glass is Pasifika modern woved into classic Gothic touches. These are really worth studying. The one towards the back on the left as you enter is my favourite. It has lots of different styles of kete/woven baskets worked into it.‬

‪Pretty interior with stained glass‬

‪Cathedrals such as Holy Trinity offer visitors a bit of history and art. The stained glass was beautiful and they have the largest pipe organ in NZ. The wooden ceiling is impressive, as is the altar carved from medieval stone. HT is the mother church of the Anglican Diocese and holds 2,000 people. If it isn't open, ask if it's possible to see inside the smaller, attached, historic ST. MARY'S CHURCH (they opened it for us.) It has a wonderful ceiling, lights, and a carved owl on a beam near the pulpit, plus an adorable carved mouse at the pulpit's lectern (underneath on left.) He's the adorable Mouse of Kilburn. Friendly, very helpful staff. This is on the Explorer Hop-On route and well worth a stop. Great pastry shop across the street.‬

‪Stunningly beautiful‬

‪We went in to check it out as it was on the hop on hop off and I'm so glad we did the stain glass windows are worth the look in alone absolutely huge and so colourful it really makes the church. The church itself is huge and they offer you a map so you can see certain places. There is a clear glass prayer room towards the back which is also stunning.‬

‪市内観光で入れてもらいました。ステンドグラスがマオリ調で変わっています。ヨーロッパの教会とは異なってカジュアルな感じで、コンサートされたりとか集会所みたいな感じで使用されているらしいです。‬

‪Not to be missed‬

‪Depending which way you come at the cathedral, the building is modern and doesn't look that promising. We'd been next door to St Marys, the original, older church and decided to call in - so glad we did. It is breathtaking. The stained glass panels that line each side of the walls and the large panel above the door are colourful and full of history and symbolism. This really is worth the visit.‬
