Wonderful collection of art. I feel for elderly folk they need more seating so people can sit to admire. Also drinkable water

Had this on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone with kids or not to visit this if you have the opportunity. Good walking shoes, water and layer clothing would be a good idea. Loved it!

Take stout shoes and you own water and lunch. There’s a lot of ground to cover and it’s quite undulating pasture type ground at times.
Fabulous collection and lovely setting. We are so lucky the family share this to raise money for charity.

OMG! This is a private farm, the person who owns this farm opens it for free to either Charities or to individuals from time to time over the year. How kind! How remarkable that someone would share this amazing place. My friend was so excited to secure us tickets, she had been trying for two years! We pinched ourselves and you cannot appreciate the sculptures unless you see them in person - they are all incredible. Its gob smacking. Its a blow your mind day out. It took us the full four hours allocated to walk / stroll around and taken in the sculptures. It could be a challenging walk for those that are unfit. We were all so grateful to be able to visit this. Thank you to Mr Gibbs for sharing paradise with us.

This destination had been on my bucket list ever since I watched a documentary on Anish Kapoor’s Dismemberment Site 1 which sits proudly into the landscape at Gibbs Farm.
We were fortunate to engage the services of Glen from Art Travel NZ who picked us up at the ferry terminal in Auckland and drove us to the farm. His knowledge on both the farm, the owner Alan Gibbs and each of the sculptures made it a memorable day and we got so much more out of it than doing it on our own.
The opportunity to visit the farm, given it is a private property is mainly when a charitable event is taking place and they agree to open it to the public.
We were overwhelmed at the scale of the sculptures but given the vastness of the property, they perfectly complemented the landscape.
Make sure you wear reasonable walking shoes as there are plenty of hills to tackle.
Acknowledgement to Glen Armstrong at Art Travel for the photographs included in this review too.

The Sunday open house was a fundraiser for the Auckland Art Gallery. Lots of people there, but the grounds can hold them. The sculptures are amazing and well worth seeing. Take good walking shoes;there are few benches and seats to sit on. Guides were knowledgeable and helpful. I day you'll remember.

If you ever get a chance to book a space on their open days, do so you will not be disappointed. The huge artworks are amazing and set in some stunning farmland. While the land is hilly, the paths make it doable for everyone and the bonus is seeing farm animals and being able to get close and touch the artwork, not something you can do elsewhere!

Was lucky enough to visit this stunning landscape with a bus trip. Was better than anticipated. Getting up close to giraffes was special.
Sculptures larger than life and amazing. Yes a bit of walking but definitely worth the experience.
Appreciative that Gibbs Farm allow visitors to share this creation.
thank you

HI Eastwoodhill and all others -
I have been wanting to visit Gibb Farm for years now. We are Canadians travelling in NZ in early December. Any tips on how to get tickets or on a tour? The website shows no future availability. At all.
Thanks very much,
Kimberly

My apologies for the delay in replying - have just seen your question
It is a private property and only open for occasional days spread through the summer months (around December to February here) and as I understand it admission for individuals is only with organisations that have been given access as a fundraiser
That has been the situation when I have visited
I suggest then that if you are visiting Auckland in those months then closer to the time watch out on the internet for an organisation that is offering tickets to Gibbs Farm
From your question though relating to the booking form, perhaps you can now book as an individual but you have to enter a specific date which can only be one when the property is open to the public
The website will show those specific dates, but it might be too early in the year at this stage for them to be showing the 2019/20 dates on the website
Hope that helps
Regards, Colin
