Arrived on a Sunday after markets closed and road access into garden shut down. But no hassle. Beautiful park with lots of low lying tables to lie down on and rest. Good kids playground. Lovely Japanese tea house garden. Beautiful river runs through it. Very relaxing, clean and full of bird life.

The Tondoon Botanic Gardens of Gladstone are a lovely example of bush gardens with lovely gum trees and real feature. Loved the 'honour totem poles' for those people who had reached 100yrs old. A really nice touch. The Japanese Tea Garden was lovely as well.

Lovely walks through a range of forest types. Interesting plantings, water features, picnic spaces, clean amenities.
Note that the disability parking is at the furthest end of the car park. Perhaps that will change after the ongoing refurbishment.
Café is closed with no date yet for reopening so bring your own picnic. No parking for caravans so it’s a long walk to bring your gear to get to entry.
A shame that disabled and grey nomads would find it difficult to visit. Most travellers would love this green oasis if given parking.

So many interesting areas to these gardens. Visited several times and keep finding new gems. Peaceful and pretty well looked after.

Lovely, varied gardens. We love the baby turtles in the lake by the cafe. The car park is plenty big enough. Very good descriptions of all trees and plants

We had only a very brief visit but this is a place I am planning to re-visit when I return to Gladstone. You probably need a car to access the gardens but they are well worth the visit. Lake Tondoon provides an attractive centrepiece. It is overlooked by a well regarded cafe. The gardens themselves contain a wide selection of local and other trees and plants. There is a an arboretum containing blue gums, an orchid house. There is also a Japanese tea house built in the traditional method, set in landscaped Japanese garden. Sculptures also add to the landscape. Birds and native fauna also add to the attractiveness of the gardens. We were told that guided tours are provided on certain weekdays. This appears to be a place that is well loved and patronized by locals.

Good variety of native plants and wildlife. Well laid out and maintained. Strategically placed lookout near the kiosk.

This was just ever so relaxing and rewarding. At 10am on Thursdays, by the cafe, you are met by a tour guide who will take you through the gardens. This is the best way to see it first, then next time, just roam at your leisure.

The family went to breakfast at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens for a member's 40th birthday. The staff are very friendly and helpful with a good range of food on the menu. Being a Botanic Garden, the surroundings are very much back to nature with the ability to feed the ducks and turtles from the veranda of the restaurant overlooking the water.
Very exciting for young children and old alike. Not only have we been there for breakfast, but also lunches. It is a place where we take our visitors when they visit Gladstone. After your meal, it is pleasant to walk around the Gardens.
