‪Former Murray Hotel‬

‪This was built in 1879 and the licensee also run a brothel next door from 1887-1897, but lost her license as of ill repute. It is a pity the hotel and brothel is closed. The brothel is the only classified brothel in Victoria and is National Trust classified. The hotel is on the Victorian Heritage Register‬

‪Historic Hotel In Echica‬

‪The Murray Hotel was erected in 1879 on the site of a previous hotel and from the Capmaspie Shire signage was from 1887 a place with 'high-kickers' and honky tonk music and from all reports was associated with a brothel next door. The hotel was delicensed in 1897 (and rightly so) but it still stands as an interesting reminder of times past.‬
