Lots of gorgeous art, funky jewellery and other cool bits and pieces. A great wee place to find something a bit different.

I have bought quite a few pieces of art, although I ended up buying these online from Art on Tyne the service has always been exceptional.I always recieve comments on my beautiful art.

I came upon this wee gallery, which is just filled with lots of different pieces from different artists, Lady of the shop was very helpful, with letting me know what came from who... Will definitely pop in when going through oamaru.

I stumbled across this gem while visiting with family from Wellington recently. What a find! This little gallery is full of fun, quirky and beautiful things! It had a wide range of art/design goods sourced from local/New Zealand artists and designers. I purchased a beautiful up-cycled vintage plate featuring a regal sparrow! A design by the owner of this gallery and a local Oamaru artist. I also couldn't resist purchasing a gorgeous faux taxidermy deer head made out of a re-roved NZ wool blanket. Both purchases are very quirky and unique! I could have gone mad if money wasn't and option! Service was great and I have since brought a couple of presents for friends via the Art on Tyne face book page. Its certainly well worth a visit if your passing through Oamaru! I loved it and I certainly left with a smile on my face!

Visiting "Art On Tyne" is a MUST for anyone that will be in Oamaru. This wee art oasis was a breath of fresh air after visiting so many souvenir laden shops. The art is original and New Zealand made and there is such a well curated selection available. I was able to get beautiful treasures for myself and my family back in the USA.

OMG!! I love this shop.
Everytime we're down in Oamaru I always pop in.. I always get greeted in a friendly manner. (Recognized from FB)
I always have to purchase something, I just love the shops stock, and to add if I see anything I fall in love with through their Facebook page I send a message and get it via post.
I could not recommend this shop to anyone that's visiting Oamaru especially the old part. They have the most fabulous handmade jewelry made my very talented designers.
I can't wait till my next visit to Old Oamaru. 😊

I live in Melbourne and recently purchased a gorgeous piece of art work from the shop online. I had issues with my bank doing an international cheque. The staff member I dealt with from Art on Tyne was exteremly patient while I sorted out issues with the payment from my end and would answer my emails straight away. Very professional and friendly. It was refreshing to deal with such a helpful and kind and professional person. Would recommend stopping in to check out this shop if you are in Oamaru or online as there is such an arrange of beautiful pieces to purchase.

Wow! What a gorgeous gallery and gift shop Art on Tyne is. So many beautiful things to look at, I didn't know where to start! The shop assistant was so nice, she took the time to talk me through all the different artworks and artists. There's nothing better than good customer service and she was lovely to chat to. A great ambassador for Oamaru, and New Zealand. I think it's so cool that this gallery only stocks NZ artists, what an awesome thing for them to do, supporting Kiwi-made. There were heaps of things I have never seen anywhere else, so it was an exciting shopping experience, and I bought quite a lots of lovely gifts. Highly recommend popping in, I can't wait to go back!
