My boyfriend and I visited The Abbey winery on the first stop of our wine tour. We absolutely adored the aesthetic of the winery and were able to taste up to six of their wines. We were seated outdoors and undercover.
The staff were very friendly and provided to guests cheese and cracker platters to enjoy with our wine tastings. The owners of the property had a dog wandering about - we were able to make friends with him and he spent the majority of our stay with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and even bought a bottle of wine - all of which are reasonably priced!

Nice Sunday listening to music and drinking sangria at Abbe Winery. Good pizza. We went on a busy day so a bit of a wait. Bean bags and tables to sit at in the shade so was good. Things for children to do.

Great location, very pleasant seating under the trees, idyllic with plenty of parking. Great pizza although there’s quite a wait when they’re busy

What a shambles! Booked a table for 6 arrived to find no dedicated tables given (after standing in the queue for 20mins) Fortunately we managed to find the last one. Ordered at 1.15pm only to be told it was the last platter (sorry for all the others in the queue behind me).was told kids order of fries would take 40 mins. 1.5 hrs later it arrived only after I had chase it up! Others we spoke to left after there food had not arrived 2 hrs after ordering.
Vaccine passes required but never checked. Sign on door stated fully booked but clearly people disregarding this and still coming in.
This place has the potential with a bit of organisation to be great. This is our second visit and will sadly be our last due to the poor service.

Arrived at 3:55 pm with a group of friends after cycling around for the day. Had expressly arranged to come here last as heard great things. As we were waiting in line behind our friends the clock ticked past 4pm and they refused to take any food orders. This meant that 1/2 of the group did not get any food and the other 1/2 did. Flippin ridiculous. Would not ever come here again. Such exceptionally bad customer service.

I'm not sure who you arranged with, as we weren't notified of your group at all. Our Lunch service goes from 11am to 4pm. Our last booking is 3:30 and kitchen shuts at 4pm. So we do have a 30 minute window for late orders.
If you're coming for lunch, it's probably best to come at lunch time. 90% of the cyclists come around 12-1pm.
If you want to enjoy a place, it's best not to come at the end of a day, unless for a quiet beer or wine, as it's all winding down.

Lovely afternoon spent here tasting some gorgeous wines in lovely surroundings. We were given a list of tasting notes of the wine flight we selected which was helpful. The food from the food truck was divine and the service from them was super friendly. I felt the service from Abbey Winery staff could be improved, a smile goes a long way....

A lovely sunny winter afternoon trying wine accompanied by Indilicious Food Truck food. This was one of our favourites.

We dropped in on Sunday afternoon for a bottle of wine and a platter. The place was buzzing and we were treated to some live music. Great was to spend a Sunday afternoon. The platter was fantastic and very generous serving and the Rose was delicious. The resident dog Ash was well behaved and we loved seeing him cruising round saying hello to everyone. It is a family affair running the business and had a lovely chat to the owner who was humble and entertaining. Great place to stop in for some great food and wine and friendly welcoming service.

Beautiful spot to go and listen to some music, sip some wine and just generally relax on a weekend afternoon!! Lots of seating, the wine is superb. A definite favourite spot to spend a few hours chilling!!

My wife and I spent the weekend visiting family in Hawkes Bay over the weekend and visited Abbey Winery & Brewery as part of a mini self drive wine tour, it was our first winery of the day and was by far the best experience, it is a smallish family run winery in a stunning location, the staff were all extremely knowledgeable and super friendly, my wife and I just shared a taster of four different wines, the servings were by far the most generous of the day and all that we tasted were beautiful, special mention to the 2015 Gabriel late harvest desert wine, it was super sticky and a real knock out, also had a glass of the Seduction desert Malbec which was wonderful. Unfortunately as it was our first stop of the day we didn't get to try the pizza's or beautiful sounding platters however our next visit will be for a bit more of an "afternoon session"
