‪Interesting regional gallery‬

‪A couple of interesting exhibitions in this smallish regional gallery which has one large, nice display space. We liked a lot about the challenging 'Landscapes of Loss' exhibition but did wonder about the class of primary school children having it shown to them given the rather millenial, end-of the-word tone it had. Not a bundle of laughs; protected, cheerful childhoods are apparently no longer an imperative for teachers or parents?‬

‪Great place to visit and to take my grandchildren.‬

‪I have taken my grandchildren and my siblings there to visit when they are visiting me and they are all fascinated by the displays at the gallery.‬

‪Unusual paintings very good‬

‪On a cold rainy day we went to visit the city art Gallery. It was excellent I really like this display I was here last year and I did not enjoy it but this time the paintings the big photographs were very impressive. recommendable.‬

‪Like going to have a look at the displays they seem to invite a great array of artists to show their works. Nice friendly staff as well.‬

‪Only for the real art lovers‬

‪Only a small selection of modern art. Not to my taste but fine if you are into current work. Space was noisy from hard floors and staff at front counter could be heard on the phone from anywhere in the gallery. It was free however. Outside in the park is a selection of fine Maori carvings.‬

‪Very interesting art.‬

‪My wife and I loved this Art Gallery, it is not very big but a lot of thought has gone into it, and it was so refreshing to be greeted by the receptionist who took the time to explain some of the Art work and the artist's. Would highly recommend a visit.‬

‪Well worth visiting‬

‪We visited the East exhibition at the gallery, and were really impressed with the way such a diverse range of works by local artists were displayed. There was a strong interactive element, and the exhibition seemed designed to appeal to children as well a adults. Very enjoyable and informative.‬

‪Unusual art but it was very entertaining‬

‪This was one of the most unusual art galleries we went to. You could play on the wall comes out unusual music. Generally it was very interesting. I thought was a bit empty. The ladies at reception was very friendly and helpful.‬
