This is our 4th and most memorable tour with O.S. Our guides Robbie and Iris are exceptional and should be valued by the company. Their knowledge of and passion for indigenous history, myths and customs and ability to impart that to us was always informative and entertaining. Robbie made it come alive even demonstrating the forces that made Uluru by drawing in the sand.
We were given enough time to go at our own pace with interesting rock formations, native trees and plants pointed out along the way. When animals were spotted Robbie turned and stopped so we could get out and have a good look. Wild camels and brumbies were a highlight. The King Brown was safely observed from the coach.
Nothing was too much trouble. Iris kept us supplied with plenty of cool water and snacks. Her organisational skills kept us informed and on track. She even gave individual notes about the day's activities, times and what we ordered for dinner!
They cared enough to quietly organise a wheelchair for someone with limited mobilty with Robbie pushing her around Uluru's base - much to her delight.
Robbie and Iris made it an unforgetable experience. We'd love to travel with them again.

An amazing 6 days in the Red Centre 0made possible by the exceptional organisational skills of Robbie and Iris, our guides. Their teamwork was fantastic, they were extremely patient and very clear with directions and times, in all aspects super efficient. We went on wonderful walks,and, always were given clear instructions about remaining safe at all times before start of each walk. They are passionate about what they do, and their passion for guiding and imparting their knowledge to us made for a very memorable and wonderful adventure. We hope Outback Spirit value and appreciate these two staff members for the exceptional service and memories they make for all clients. They truly go over and beyond to provide an amazing experience one will never forget, and for those reasons, we have no hesitation in recommending Outback Spirit to friends and family.

We run these tours from March until October with 2025 departures now expanded to an 8 day tour to allow guests to enjoy more time at Uluru. We look forward to seeing you again one day, in another part of our amazing country.

The 6 day Red Centre Explorer tour with Outback Spirit was an amazing experience and we would do it again in a heartbeat. From Alice Springs out through Kings Canyon to Uluṟu and back, every place we visited was wonderful, with the time at Uluṟu and Kata Tjuṯa the pinnacle of the trip. What made our trip even more special were our wonderful guides, Robbie and Iris, who were without any doubt the best tour guides we have ever experienced, and there have been many , both overseas and in Australia. Robbie’s passion for his job shone through clearly and the lovely Iris with her great organisational skills made things happen smoothly and seamlessly, both complimenting each other to create the best possible experience for their guests.

If you are lucky enough to have Robert and Iris on this amazing trip you will have an exceptional client service experience. They are very knowledgeable about the country through which we travel and about the traditional custodians of that land and are passionate about sharing that knowledge with you. The trip was exhausting but exhilarating because we saw and did so much. Do it, you’ll love it.

Fantastic tour from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon to Uluru and back to Alice Springs. Our tour guides Robert and Iris went above and beyond our expectations. Robert provided interesting and detailed geological and cultural information about the region. His assessment of the ease or difficulty of the walks was spot on. Iris was the backbone of the pair, keeping the tour on track, on time, as well as hydrated and fed. They worked very well as a team. Overall, the tour is well worth the detour from the Sturt Highway or The Ghan when travelling in the red centre.

This was an amazing experience. We were so well looked after. Robert and Iris were accommodating and well organised and everything happened seamlessly. Robert was so passionate about the first nations people, and the Australian plants, animals and landscape. It was a truly subversive experience and we learned so much.

We took this 6 day trip - leaving the Ghan at Alice Springs. It was fabulous! Our tour guides, Robbie and Iris, were brilliant. They were knowledgeable, engaging, professional, accommodating and responsive. There were 26 in the party, which was a good number to travel with. No one missed out. Robbie and Iris were great hosts - lots of fun. The accommodation, food, drink and activities offered were 5 star. We travelled as a couple but it would not be an issue for sole travellers. Everyone was very friendly. So many fabulous memories!!!

We had the most amazing 6 day tour brilliantly looked after by Karen and Smiley (Darrel). The hotel accommodation was well organised and food service as you would expect. Even with the unusual weather and rain, the experience at Uluru and Kings Canyon was truly spectacular. The coach and on board service, with Smiley’s excellent narration ,made the whole trip worth every penny and a lovely group to enjoy it with. Thanks very much for a great time.

Thank you ist26 for this lovely 5 star review of our Outback Spirit Red Centre Explorer tour. It can certainly be challenging to tour in the Australian outback, however even in times of bad weather, there are gems to be discovered, like the beautiful sights of the waterfalls on Uluru. What a rare sight you got to experience! Our guides Karen and Smiley are certainly the best in the business and I’m so pleased they exceeded your expectations. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your beautiful photographs. We look forward to one day welcoming you back on one of our Outback Spirit tours.

We had a 6 night tour around Kings Canyon, Uluru and Kata Tjuta. We had a great bunch on the bus (think about 25) and the tour guides Jack and Alli were great. Loved this tour, and the locations are amazing.

My wife and I were really looking forward to this part of our extended trip. It was everything we expected and more. Adrian and Rosanne were brilliant hosts, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The accommodation was comfortable. The meals were great. We would definitely be interested in travelling with this company again.

Hi ivalee9. What was the name of the tour you mention above? I see there are a few different central Aus itineraries with Outback Spirit.
