Visited on Tuesday 21st March. I like what is happening at Mooloolaba Beach, the foreshore looks much better now they have completed the boardwalk linking the headland to the beach below. A great new area to relax away from the sand.

Mum and I parked at Alexandra Headland near the Bluff and did the Coastal walk to Mooloolaba Beach one Saturday morning in September 2022 . We used to do this walk often when I was a kid (Mum, Dad, Ryan and Nanny & Grampy and I). It is still a winner (though much busier these days) and the views of the ocean from the elevated coastal cliffs are brilliant. There are plenty of things to spot from the cliffs including the Point Cartwright jetty and lighthouse behind it, and Old Woman Island in the other direction (which I still think looks more like a giant whale than an old woman), as well as the surfers catching barrels. There is a new walkway on the Mooloolaba end which takes you along the beach side heading towards the Loo with a View. The day we went there was a local triathlon happening so there was a lot of excitement in the air. When we got to Mooloolaba we found a café (Black Fox, not far from the Mooloolaba Surf Club) and I got a cuppa and a bacon and egg roll (Mum was not hungry as usual!). The walk back is the same way, but you get a different viewing perspective, and we say at least a dozen water dragons/lizards (I think they were eastern water dragons) along the path.

The beach and shopping experience in this partvof Sunshine coast is fabulous and not to be missed.
If staying for a few nights, there are plenty of hotels and motels and restaurants.
I have enjoyed this beach plenty of times and
For ladies there are plenty of good quality clothing and shoe shops and my friend was impressed.
For single guys, go have a look, as there is a huge selection of very beautiful women, some who may be single and looking 👍🙂.
There are a few shops for ice cream lovers and for gifts a good souvenirs store.Oh and there is a coles supermarket too.
Enjoy.

What a beautiful place to visit so clean so lovely the perfect get away. So many places to go restaurants cafes etc etc.

Great weather. Beach very popular and hence very crowded. Lifesavers were amazing but could have let out the flags a little to give people more room to swim safely.

We really like Mooloolaba beach. It is usually a bit more protected and less wind blown than the other beaches. It’s great as it’s literally steps away from food and stores to browse through after a day at the beach.

Clean, long and beautiful beach. Really safe and plenty of space. Nearby there are various shops and eateries, a great place to spend the day. Ready access and easy to park too.

The beach was pretty busy but everyone was enjoying themselves. The sea was quite rough but looked to be very safe.

The newly redeveloped foreshore area has lifted the area. The addition of undercover parking off Brisbane Road means no more slow crawls for a cark park. Great safe beach for families.

Sunshine coast airport (MCY) or Brisbane Airport (BNE). From Brisbane you have to catch a train and a bus.

We are coming for Christmas Day breakfast on the beach, we know there are BBQ’s there however we are concerned that they will be very busy! Can you bring your own disposable BBQ’s with you to the beach?

No you won't be able too bring your own barby. Best to have some kind soul go and claim a vacant one, if there is one, at around 3pm. You could also try the river front at Cotton Tree, there are a few more there. Or further north of Maroochydore, on the Maroochy River front.....bonus....amazing sunsets.

Is Mooloolaba Beach dog friendly

Dogs are no longer allowed on the beach at all, even on leash, this has been a recent change by the local council. But the park along the beach and the walking track is on leash dog friendly and so are most of the cafes.

Hi, plan to visit Mooloolaba beach, during our trip to Australia on 05-Dec (Saturday).
Reading from the feedback, we can have BBQ there?
Wonder if we need to book the BBQ pit and where can we get information, such as booking, payment ant etc.
Will it be too hot during evening time, around 5pm

Hi - yes there are a limited number of BBQ's on the beach. If you google image Loo with a View, Mooloolaba, you will see the main tourist structure, built around the public toilets! The BBQ's are in the park just south of the Loo. I don't believe there are any opportunities to book them - first in, first served. Most people are happy to share them. There is a walkway/cycle path that extends (with a couple of detours) for 20km south to Caloundra, and effectively 50km north to Noosa. There are BBQ's at various spots along the path. If you are here in summer holidays, and you are driving a car, get to the beach early - definitely before 10.00 am to get a carpark. School holidays are december - mid January. Lots of people come up from Brisbane so it gets crowded. Don't expect good accomodation deals at this time. As for the BBQ, if you can't get one at Mooloolaba beach, walk south along the path towards the Spit (good fish and chip shops too), as there are more BBQ's there. Enjoy your visit.
