There was a big fire in the summer of 2022, and a large area of the park is burnt. But you can still enjoy the climb and the summit with the iconic view. There were mostly German families the day that we went, which means that although it's not a very easy climb, it's totally doable with kids.

It was my first solo trip. The best day I've had was this! Ondrej our guide was amazing
and incredibly friendly and chatty, I actually felt I was among friends visiting an absolutely spectacular place.. It's so worth it that I will definitely do it again with my family!! Big thanks to Ondrej for an excellent guidance!!

Amazing views of rock formation and ancient fortifications. Guide was very knowledgeable and open to altering experience for my personal weak physical condition. I really appreciated it. And then we had a fantastic lunch at local restaurant. Love that authentic experience.

Not as spectacular as I hoped...parts of the park are closed...there are a massive amount of trees dying or cut down. Be informed

this is relatively new and less visited place of Czech Republic, but you really could found there many trekking trails and nice places to see. If you love nature and trekking so 3 days is good option to explore the area, Hrensca town is good starting point for many trails and you can found many places to stay and eat. Cash is good option because many restaurants receive cash only. We stayed in hotel Kotva- very recommended, good breakfast, bed, room, cleaning- all 9 from 10

Highly recommended for a day trip from Prague. It will break the city life with a full day of nature, running water and scenery. The sandstone arch and surroundings are spectacular.

The national park that we visited was the Bohemian Switzerland National park. It is administer by both Germany and Czech. In Czech you walk the stone edge of a river that carved a gorge through the limestone. It is green and lush with tiny swimming birds and extraordinary scenery. There is a boat ride — with a boatman poling down river. It is amazing. The second half is in Germany. It is a hike across suspended walkways between 10 story high limestone monoliths. It is breathtaking. Single trees growing atop pinnacles —wow!!!.
This is a unforgettable activity. So bring a camera, good walking shoes, curiosity, and ask for MAREK. He is the most knowledgeable interesting guide I have ever had. His ability to communicate and give a deep understanding of the resilience of a culture and a people is unsurpassed.

Prošly jsme jen poměrně krátkou procházkou ale stejně na vás to místo zanechá dojem. Náročnost cesty lze zvolit. Procházka s dětmi i pro ostřílené cestovatele. Úžasné výhledy. Klid. Příroda bez dotyku člověka. Povinnost navštívit i když myslím ze zvolit méně turisticky vytížené období není na škodu.

We stayed in Decin and drove about 25 min to get here. The main walking circuit takes about 6.5 hours round trip, with options to cut it down if you take a bus along the less interesting parts. All the hiking here is pretty easy ( I imagine there are also harder trails as well). The area was filled with families with small kids and dogs to people kitted out in full hiking gear and walking sticks. All walking is on marked paths. There is a local area map given to you by the parking guys, bus driver etc shows all trails walking times bus stops etc.
We chose to park at the end of the circuit at Mezni Louka, highly recommended. This was a great choice as we arrived around 9.45 (opening is at 9) and we were one of the first cars in the parking lot. The hike starts just off the parking lot. Easy hike and times on the map are pretty accurate. Basically it is hike (20-30min), short boat ride (25 people per boat. They said the boats come every 25 minutes but we found it quicker. Pay in crowns or euros (no card) for each boat ride. After the boat, there is another walk to a restaurant with lots of picnic tables and a kiosk with food (fries, grill your own sausage etc), beers, ice cream etc. Nice place to stop and relax. The only WCs on the trail are here as well. The second boat is a short walk from the restaurant. After the last boat (20 min)it was another short walk to the main road/restaurants. We took the tourist bus the 1.5km to the start of the walk for the Rock Bridge.
For the Rock Bridge, it is a fairly easy walk uphill (many people with sandals or bare feet) but if you have any issues walking on smooth rocks up or downhill, consider if this is for you. It is mostly shaded. At the top there is a restaurant as well.
We then took a bus again back to the car. You can walk another 6.5km on the trail but we decided to not do this. Instead we took the bus (cash only, pay before getting on). There was a red 'train' bus, red tourist bus and city bus. Not all pick up times are posted but after 15 min we were picked up. No distancing but the ride was less than 10 min.
There are many restaurants and bars in town but all tourist places. It was a great day out but honestly we feel in love with nearby Tisa Rocks so happy we did Hrensko on our first day and Tisa on day 2.
We were here in July on the weekend. Most tourists in the morning were local and by the afternoon mostly Germans. Most everything in Czech and German but little English (although most younger adults seem to speak great English. ).
As we were here during Covid-19 time, I wanted to say a few things about this. There was little if any social distancing, no masks, little hand sanitizer etc. Boats operate as normal with 25 people sitting together but you are outside.

Marek is an excellent guide! We enjoyed how he kept the tour going at a good pace while also allowing plenty of time to take in the scenery. He took pictures for everyone in the group and shared points of interest and history as we passed relevant sites. At the restaurant (which was delicious!), he made great reccommendations regarding which traditional Czech dishes to try. At every turn, he kept us informed of what we were doing and where we were going so that we always knew what to expect. The Bohemian Switzerland Park and Bastei bridge were phenomenal sites to see! Pictures don't begin to do it justice, but suffice it to say this tour should be on your bucket list for sure!

Hi I would appreciate your reply
Planning a trip for one day with my husband in October I wanted to know:
1. What are the opening and closing hours of the park?
2. We would like to see the Pravčická Brána (arch) as well as a boat trip. What is the easiest route there is? And how long will it take ? Is it even possible to do in one day?
we will arrive as early as possible.
Many thanks in advance

I’m not sure. You can directly contact the organizers through their website, though.

Bonjour, est-il envisageable de faire une randonnée d'un jour au départ de Prague ? Si oui, quel est le moyen de transport le plus adéquat pour s'y rendre: train, bus ou location d'une voiture ? Merci.
Hi, is it possible to do a one day hikking ? We will go to Prague three days in april, but we have only one day free to go out of the city. What is the best way to go there : bus, train, hire a car ? Or do you recommand us to go to an other park ? Thank you.

according to this website of cztour, the bus service from Decin is very limited?! Is it better for tourists to join a one day tour instead of taking train + bus by themselves? We are not going to drive.
Is it easy to find the ways to those famous rock and take the boat in the river?
thanks a lot!

I'm not sure about the bus service, but once you get to the park, you can easily hike to the areas of interest. The trails are well marked and in good shape. We took a tour for the day since we were going from Prague (Praha), but Decin is much closer.

Hello, we will stay in Decin, and plan to visit Bohemian Switzerland National Park, Pravcicka brana, Wild Gorge and Czech - Saxon Switzerland, what's the best way to visit all them inside the nation park - by bus, or by car(we have a rental car)? we plan to do a lot of hiking, too, is one full day sufficient? THANK YOU!

You must use a car then
public transport is available but it is simply too inefficient lol
and thats assuming it arrives on time
take note that if you miss the buses at night you must stay overnight :P

Hello, we're planning a trip to the park for May and have a few questions. Would you say it's better to choose a single camp spot for your entire visit and make day trips from there, to hike from one destination to another without a base camp or are both options equally viable? How many days would you recommend for the visit and can you make camp freely or only at set camping locations? Is it possible to order a map of the park online, or to buy one once you arrive at the location? We're also planning to continue from this park to Bohemian Paradise, is there any form of convenient transport between the parks without having to go through Praque?

Hi leena,
You are welcome in the National park. You can built the the tent only in public camp (for example, Děčín, Mezni Louka, Vysoká Lípa, Jetřichovice, ...)
No car? It is influence answer about the second question. Reccoment you every day, different camps.
You can buy map in Information centre. Or look at app mapy.cz
By train you can continue to Bohemian Paradise (not easy, but possible)
