The visit to the estate is very informative. Tasting their super olive oil is a treat. To do absolutely. Allow 2 hours. An extremely nice couple with top values.

Andrew Villone, Savor The Experience Tours organized for our group of six, along with six others, a ten (10)-day tour of Croatia, Slovenia closing out our adventure in Ljubljana. It started with meeting our group and an introduction to our driver Christian, who was an amazing driver and a very kind host as well. He too along with Andrew have a wealth of knowledge and are proud of the places we visited. This was the first time the six of us traveling together had elected to enlist a professional tour guide service.
Andrew selected local expert tour guides at each of our stops to further enhance our experience. The tour went off without a missed opportunity to visit places such as olive oil and goat and cheese farms along with the sampling of wines, cheeses, culture, amazing meals, and meet some very special people. The accommodations for the evenings were first class as were every place we visited and even though they did need to improvise a bit due to the bike race coming through some of our scheduled stops, they did so without any hint that the plans required a bit of ingenuity.
We never would have found all these fabulous places on our own. The entire ten days were magical and will always be remembered. I highly recommend contacting Andrew Villone, Savor The Experience if you are going to visit Slovenia. I hope to go back someday!

We were only in Slovenia for about 3 days and could not take an extended tour so Andrew organized a one day adventure for us. It started with a visit to a beautiful organic olive farm and a wonderful lunch with local meats, cheeses and of course the farm's olive oil, pate and salt. Our driver dropped us off in Piran where we spent a couple hours exploring the town. The day concluded with a trip to a winery where we sampled the wines, ate more delicious local food and had dessert wines in their cellar. We never would have found all of these fabulous places on our own. The entire day was magical and one we will always remember. I highly recommend contacting Andrew if you are going to visit Slovenia. I hope to go back some day!

We have been on three tours with Andrew Villone and Savor the Experience Tours. Each one was better than the last. Loved the Harvest Tour, expecially. He combines visits to wineries, restaurants, and places of interest that are off the beaten path but that are unforgettable. My favorite aspect is the way he shares his relationships with local providers with members of the tour in a way that allows each one on the tour to feel a special connection with the people you meet. The quality of the food, wine honey, oil, lodgings, and locales are first rate. Five stars all around!

All my brothers and sisters (two of each) and their spouses met my husband and I in Ljubljana where Andrew picked us up and took us on a tour of a lifetime. This was the first time all of my family took a trip together, so it was important for the tour to go off without a hitch and Andrew did not disappoint. The accommodations were first class along with every place we visited. We were exposed to local culture throughout Slovenia and Croatia. The food and wine experiences were fantastic. This was my second tour with Andrew and he will continue to be our go to NOT-Captain Obvious guide. He’s the best!

Andrew has an eye for interactive cultural moments. We have all, on occasion, found these while travelling. It is truly remarkable that these moments are so abundant each and every day with Savor The Experience Tours. A+

Andrew made this a seamless trip with no wasted time asking for directions, trying to figure out where was a good place to eat because of his great organizing and networking skills, we had not one bad meal!!! every place we stayed was great, and all kinds of intimate experiences with a family run businesses. Having the opportunity to meet and discuss one on one with so many different establishments made this trip very special. I felt so welcomed and at home everywhere we went. Will never forget the look on my brothers face when we were taken into a restaurant's special cellar after dinner to show us how they make their prosciutto. Both my brothers try to make their own with some success but nothing compared to this place. Now they want to redo their basements into a version of this fabulous cellar. They had one room full of hanging prosciutto another room was like a bar for tasting Grappa and other wonderful stuff, another room for their sausages, and then there was the wine cellar with the cheese storage below! Too much fun! and we had 2 weeks of this. A great family run winery that has been in the family for ever. It would take me forever to describe all the places we went to and had so much fun, but it was because we didn't have to worry about anything, everything was taken care of by Andrew. No matter where we went with Andrew we were treated so well, and I just loved all the people we met because of him. Would love to do it again. Thank you Andrew!!

Without a doubt, this was my favourite vacation I have ever taken. I have always shied away from guided tours but I've now been converted. Our small group of four, plus our knowledgeable and very entertaining tour guide, Andrew, made for an unforgettable experience! After 8 days of non-stop eating fabulous foods and tasting fresh and natural wines, I have never felt more stress-free, rested, happy, and satiated! Some of the highlights... D'Osvaldo Prosciutto di Cormons, dinner in Cividale, harvesting grapes at Kmetija Stekar farm, peka at Kumparicka goat farm, wine and honey pairing at Andelini Vineyard, olive-oil tasting at Gramona olive farm, many family-run and award-winning restaurants and wineries, truffle hunting, and strolling through Istrian hilltop villages. We tasted 80 wines in 8 days! I would do this again in a heartbeat.

In October 2018, I traveled through the Veneto region of Italy and parts of Slovenia with a small group. Experienced guides, Sarah Murdoch (Adventures with Sarah) and Andrew Villone (Savor the Experience Tours), joined forces to plan this extraordinary itinerary. As I am both a "foodie" and have an interest in regional wines, this tour delivered experiences well beyond my expectations. No matter where we traveled, the food was seasonal, fresh, and locally sourced, with local wines carefully selected to enhance the sumptuous meals.
The tour began in the Veneto region of northeast Italy with a stop at Villa La Rotonda near Vicenza to admire the architecture of Palladio, Prosecco tastings, a walk atop the ancient walls of Cittadella, a night at a former monastery in a vineyard, and a visit to Bassano del Grappa to see how grappa is made. Moving on to Slovenia, we stayed in a small inn near Šmartno in the picturesque rolling hills of the Goriška Brda wine region. Macerated or "orange" wines are produced there using the white grape varietals Rebula (called Ribolla Gialla in Italy) and Nekaj. The grapes are left in contact with their skins, producing amber-colored wines. Other local varietals included unoaked Chardonnay, Merlot, Teran, and Malvasia. These were expertly paired with hearty foods such as game, veal, pork, roast chicken, black truffles, local cheeses and breads, mushrooms, polenta, cabbage, chestnuts, root vegetables, soups and stews. A stay in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, provided the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor art, delightful public squares and bridges, lovely walks along the river, shopping, and regional food specialties. On the final day we visited the Upper Carniola region to visit an apiary to learn about beekeeping, enjoy lunch at a Slovenian farm, followed by an afternoon flat-bottomed boat ride to the often-photographed island at Lake Bled. The farewell dinner took place at the medieval Bled Castle, high above the lake with spectacular sunset views of the Julian Alps.

My husband and I did a wine tour in Slovenia and Italy with Andrew in conjunction with Simon Woolf, an expert in orange wines. The tour was well-organized and a small group, which really made for a personalized experience. This was a nice surprise because we would usually never sign up for a group tour, but this felt very private and curated to our interests. Andrew and Simon made great partners as tour guides. Andrew is incredibly knowledgeable about the region and genuinely wants to show his tour guests the best it has to offer, and Simon was able to teach us more than we ever thought we could learn in one week about orange wines. Overall, a fun and educational trip - exactly what we had hoped for!
