Spent many days on this beach during my stay. Always plenty of space even on busy days. Very clean and great for walking along waters edge from end to end. Plenty of parking and a great cafe where you can get ices, coffees and breakfast.
Backed by sand dunes and green space, there’s plenty of room to have your picnic, play games or chill and watch the sunset.
Located next to dog beaches too.

The beach was relatively clean with long stretches of white sand,and many, many dogs, mostly well behaved. A cleaner beach than the Bathers's Beach in town in had good clean water and sloping sand.It was accessible from Fremantle by the free Blue Cat bus services

We’ve done a few parkruns around Australia but this was our first to incorporate a beach run. It was lots of fun and afterwards we grabbed a coffee and had a swim.

South Beach is a beautiful beach in Fremantle. It is easy to reach and there is plenty of nearby parking. The local parks surrounding the beach have great facilities. The local parkrun has a free 5k event on Saturday morning at 8am for walkers and runners of all ages and abilities - check it out.

One section is an off leash dog beach and a great one, with outdoor shower and fresh water. Grass area just off the beach with dog doo bag stands and bins. The more southern section, past the stone groin, is human only. Great Cafe near the southern car park.

Easy to get to via the CAT bus from Fremantle which runs every 20 minutes and has 18 stops at 18 attractions .

South Beach is an off-leash dog beach. The dogs splash in and out the water. Owners sometimes swim with their pooches. Barking and chasing happens all the time, but fights are rare; they're only having fun.

Good Friday seemed like family day out at South Beach. Parking at a premium, the grassed area hosting numerous family picnics and dogs, the café packed and with a patient queue. Everyone seemed happy and in jovial mood. Quick look at the beach found the area to be similarly crowded. Certainly a popular location.

The water was so clear and the beach very clean. However if you don't like dogs not the place to go. We loved it. Every size dog were walking and swimming with their owners. Great!

great vibe. we are there every morning for our pre work swim. 99% of the time owners and doggos are well behaved. please remember to put your doggos poo bags in the bins provided. thanks city of freo for the showers
