Première fois j y allais et ce ne sera pas la dernière. Beaucoup de Québécois sur place alors quand tu es seule ca rassure.
J ai tout aimé à part le manque de chaises longues à la plage, faut réserver très tôt si on en veut une.

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine. Les restaurants à la carte ont été excellent ,une bonne variété de vins !

I got a massage at the hotel spa by Andy and I loved it. One of the best massages I have had. He was very professional, talented,
he listened to my body and its needs. He massed my entire body which was very needed and I felt absolutely amazing after the experience. 10/10 totally recommend

This resort is INCREDIBLE!!!! A MILLION STARS!
This is our second time here, this year and we will be returning again and again.
The staff is amazing. They go above and beyond to make your stay a very special one. The resort is beautiful. The people are beautiful, the food, the fun. All around beautiful.
Yacel Duran is an incredible new addition to this already wonderful team. He adds so much fun, light and love. We were so impressed with him. Thank you, Yacel, for an unforgettable experience. You are an incredibly special person.
A special thank you to Edey Lazarro Perez and Maikel Rodriguez for also making our trip so wonderful. You have always gone above and beyond. Thank you SO much for another unforgettable experience. Ich habe zwei Wochen mit meiner Partnerin in diesem tollen Hotel verbracht. Wir haben uns vorher informiert, wie es auf Kuba um die Sicherheit für queere Paare steht (Homosexualität ist legal) und haben danach unser Reiseziel ausgewählt.
Und es ist wirklich krass: Noch nie haben wir uns in einer Hotelanlage so sicher gefühlt. Die Leute und Mitarbeiter geben sich die größte Mühe, uns einen tollen Urlaub und schöne Erinnerungen zu ermöglichen. Im Hotel sind wir auf weitere lesbische Paare getroffen, die sich auch offen gezeigt haben.
Hier wurde es uns nie langweilig, da es allerlei Beschäftigungsangebote gibt, darunter Luftgewehrschießen, kleine Wettbewerbe wie Song-Raten, Katamaran-/Tretbootfahrten auf dem Meer (alles im Preis inklusive). Der Strand war sauber. Auch die Animationen waren witzig und gerade wenn das Wetter mal nicht so gut war, eine gelungene Abwechslung. Außerdem ist es unbedingt empfehlenswert, Touren aufs Land zu buchen und einen kleinen Einblick in die Kultur zu erhalten.
In Sachen Trinkgeld ist es empfehlenswert, einige Euro in kleine US-Dollar-Scheine vor Abreise zu wechseln. Denn mit Euro-Münzen können die Leute vor Ort nur wenig anfangen, Scheine sind da schon besser. Praktischer sind aber natürlich kleine Dollar-Noten. Die Mitarbeiter des Hotels haben uns nie nach Trinkgeld gefragt - es ist aber natürlich angebracht, den guten Service entsprechend zu würdigen.
Unser Zimmer war sauber und wir waren mit dem Roomservice und den witzigen Handtuchtierchen sehr zufrieden. Insgesamt ist es aber auf jeden Fall eine gute Idee, sich vor der Reise mit Kuba und den Gegebenheiten vor Ort auseinanderzusetzen. Wir haben es jedenfalls geliebt und wollen wieder kommen.

Was very nice the beach, very clean but the food mmmm. We ate for 2 weeks canned fruits. no fresh fruit at all, Desserts are always the same in all restaurants, just 3 kinds, the tourists give too much money (tips) and Cubans always wait if you don't give they talk behind your back.

Whether you go to this resort solo or you go with the family. I guarantee you the staff will make sure you have an amazing time. I was there and early November by myself. I have to hand it to the entertainment crew that made sure I was never alone at any point in time. They took such good care of me and made sure all my needs were met. The staff were so friendly, courteous and filled with energy everyday. I will be going back in December just for the hospitality alone. I thank all of staff at the resort that made my time so special. I will never forget the treatment and smiles that I received every day. I look forward to my next trip.

We are repeat guests to Playa Pesquero as well as many of the other hotels in the Holguin area including Sol Luna Y Mares, Brisas, Club Amigo, Playa Costa Verde and Aston to name a few. We have also travelled in other parts of Cuba over the past 25 years so you could say we have a little bit of experience of what to expect. Having said that I realize that everyone goes on vacation for different reasons and while the food has never dissapointed us at PP as we truly are not picky, you still have to go with an understanding that you may not get what you want depending on the time of year, the number of guests, etc. I have posted some pics of some of the food which was always plentiful and if you have any imagination you can make a delicious plate whether in a restaurant or on the beach.
Of course no review for me about Playa Pesquero can ever be written without giving thanks to all the wonderful staff that we have met over the years and who welcome us back with a smile all the time. Some remember us well while some will remember after a few days as we are creatures of habit.
Big shoutout to Carlos on the beach with the beach chairs, a true hard worker and gentleman. Marieta, Abel, Milady, Yaly, I wish I could remember all the bartenders and coffee bar people, but you need to know that they are all great.
It was realllyyy hot in September but the A/C was great. The gym was great as was the jacuzzi's in the spa but really, for us we spend 80% of our time at the beach not once really dipping our toes in the pool. But it was always very clean. Food was good but because it was low season it was not too much variety at the buffet although like I said always something good to eat. And of course the beer garden, this time around had plenty of finger foods.
Still a really great resort. I still recommend it highly when asked by friends and colleagues as a good place to start if they have never been to Cuba.

Out standing hôtel,beautiful beach fantasic pools for all âges.alot of activitys on and around the resort,plenty of restaurants for you to chose from.this November was are 14 th time at this ressort.A special thank you to (Dai) and the animation team at the pool as well as at the beach.

Another question, when staying on the premium side, is the price worth the upgrade? Also, do we leave our beach towels in our room to be exchanged nightly, or change at the hut during the day? TIA

Hi,
1. I can not provide any comments on the upgrades that Premium Site is providing, as we did not stay there.
2. We picked up our towels at the hut on our first day and exchanged the towels there daily.

Hello. It is not a weird question. There were no cats in the premium section. When we went over to the buffets at the playa section in 2 weeks i may have seen 1 or 2 cats. Not a lot.

I am wondering if we need to be tested prior to leaving as a boarding requirement. We’re leaving from Ottawa, On, Canada. Also our entry requirements have changed to allow a rapid antigen test on our last day of our stay, should we test positive, is their an area on the resort for us to stay? Any insight would help.

First, the necessary tests are carried out on visitors, a rapid test and then the pcr, in case of detecting any case of contagion in any of them, they are quarantined in an area with all expenses paid with all the attractions that the visitor needs and the attention is excellent

This is less of a question and more of a statement for those travellers who vape. Vaping devices are being confiscated at Holguin airport. They will not be returned to you. This causes significant delays for you at the airport.
Flew into Varadero in July, no issues. Holguin October, 2021...vape device confiscated.
They are happy to sell you all the cigs and cigars you can smoke....gross :)

As of Oct 23, 2021 the resort is open. Am in premium section currently. Very very quiet here. Apparently reservations for nov 15 and further out are increasing

Hi there.
Question for Canadians and the new requirement for covid test on return to Canada.
I have contacted the resort and they tell me this can be done on site at the hotel.
Has anyone had any experience with this and what is the additional cost etc.
Any guidance here would be appreciated!

Test is done at the resort 3 days before your departure date at the medical office located on the property premises. You will pick up your certificate at the same place. Expect to pay 30USD via credit card for the COVID test.
