Free visit with explanation of Guide , good opera in works ++++ normally they must finish works in 2025 but I am septic

When I was there in April, the theater with the main stage was undergoing major modernization. In the corridor I met the concierge who offered to show me the theater interiors. I eagerly took advantage of this opportunity. It is a truly impressive building, built on a grand scale. The main stage was completely dug up. The work carried out was on a truly large scale. I wonder what it will all look like after the renovation? The second open stage stage is also very impressive, but this one has not been renovated. An interesting opportunity to see this facility only thanks to the concierge.

Belle architecture, bâtiment propre avec une belle pierre.

You can find this wonderful theatre across the Marrakech Train Station. Designed by Tuscan architect Charles Boccara Theatre Royal is an amalgam of Arabic and contemporary design. It has typical Marrakech red tones and European domes and columns. The building was inaugurated in 2001 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to provide the people with rich cultural experience. There is an 800 seat opera house and a 1200 seat open air theatre. National and international performances are done in Arabic and French which include plays, operas and ballets. Art Exhibitions are held in the reception Hall. I really loved the grand dome of the Theatre.

This is a wonderful, architecturally beautiful state of the art building. We passed by and had a quick look but unfortunately did not get the opportunity to go inside. This is definitely a place that should be visited.

The Royal theatre, inaugurated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in the presence of HM Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia is located at the beginning of the most prestigious thoroughfare in the city: Avenue Mohamed VI. It is an impressive building, designed by the Tunisian architect Charles Boccara in the late 90's. The architecture of this opera is inspired by ancient Italy, the oriental tradition and especially the Anchor Hispano. The hall of the opera, worthy of the finest Italian and French rooms, host important ballets, national or international productions and musicals. The main entrance hall on allows it to receive numerous exhibitions (paintings, sculptures, photographs, etc.). It is also a place for receptions, openings and other ceremonies. In front of the Royal Theatre you can find the astonishing new train station built in 2008. The new station, located 100 meters closer to the city-centre district (and directly opposite the Royal Theatre), is larger and was built to serve the planned extension of the rail network towards Agadir and Laayone. It contains several shops and fast food restaurants, including a KFC or McDonalds. A truly outstanding monument!!!

This theatre is open even when no shows or plays are on. The entrance hall is stunning with a wonderful glass dome and tiled flooring. Rooms off have inlaid walls and tiling.The stairs are circular off the corridors to keep everything cool. The guide was OK- you have a guided tour at 3pm and 6pm daily but not sure about Fridays.
