There is a small fee for entrance to the park. There are good pathways which are easy to walk, but be prepared to get very wet and ensure that passports etc. are in something waterproof. Someone later told us the views are even better on the Zimbabwean side but what we saw from the Zambian was very impressive and we enjoyed seeing them.

We were staying at the Victoria falls Safari Lodge and used the free shuttle bus to Victoria Falls entrance (stop 4).
You do not need to purchase a rain mac from the vendors outside, what is the point? you're going to a waterfall, expect to get wet, it's part of the experience!
Where decent footwear, that does not mean flip flops, the area does get quite wet and you don't want to slip over the edge.
The entrance fee per person is a bit steep at $30 each and the service was slow with little communication as to what the lack of speed was about from the cashier.
Once inside, the site is well laid out with information points to explains each section.
At the end of the walk, continue down to view the bridge connecting Zimbabwe to Zambia border crossing.
At the Zimbabwe border, you can ask for a bridge pass that allows you to cross over to the Zambian border control, but if you haven't officially left Zimbabwe, you can not enter Zambia, obviously. All you do is take the long walk back to the Zimbabwean border control and hand in your free bridge pass.
The annoying thing is, as with other Countries, you can be hounded by the street traders who are relentless in pestering you on your journey.
You don't need a full day to explore it all leisurely but a good 5+ hours is required.

I am so grateful I was able to experience these falls with my family. It is a knock your socks off spectacular sight. We were there in dry season in August but there was indeed plenty of water. So beautiful. Highly recommended.

Un site extraordinaire; on longe le fleuve en face des chutes qui s'allongent sur 1km. Tout est parfaitement organisé (flèchage, chemins, plans) et à la sortie, un petit restaurant aux burgers savoureux.

The Falls were absolutely magnificent. Perfect amount of water coming over (about 50%) so beautiful views. Magnificent wonder of the world - makes you feel so insignificant…. Greatly recommended.

Am besten nicht zur Mittagszeit hingehen, da kann es ordentlich heiß werden. Wenn man alle Aussichtspunkte abläuft ist man mehr als eine Stunde unterwegs, zum Teil ohne Schatten.

Even in October towards the end of the dry season the falls were stunning. The Zimbabwe side represent 75 per cent of the area of the falls and the largest individual
Water falls. It is busy in the mornings with tourist number lower around noon. The entrance to the National park is USD 30 for most foreign visitors. Take your time to enjoy and allow yourselves 2 hours to do a circuit.

The entire width of Victoria Falls is 1.7 Km and there are 5 different cataracts(Falls) along its 1.7 Km width..The "Devil's Cataract", "Main Falls",,"Rainbow Falls" and "Horseshoe Falls" are in Zimbabwe while the "Eastern Cataract" is in Zambia.Entrance fee was U.S $ 30 and on entering the National park followed the trail towards the Natural Wonder of the World, Victoria Falls locally named "Mosi-Oa-Tunya "which translated from the Kololo and Lozi languages means " The Smoke that thunders".The first sight from where the viewpoint trail begins is numbered "(1)" at the statue of Dr David Livingstone , the discoverer of "Victoria Falls" to the Western World on Friday 16 November 1855 now renamed "Mosi-Oa-Tunya"but universally still called by its original name "Victoria Falls". The trail route is numbered serially so a tourist has to just follow the trail serially from Dr David. Livingstone's statue to get a complete view of Victoria Falls and the rain forest on the Zimbabwean side of the waterfalls..

Beautifully looked after trail with a range of viewpoints over the Falls and countless opportunities for photos.
The walk took approx an hour with some parts in the shade which was appreciated.

Bonjour,
J ignore le prix en janv 2020 mais voici les prix en août 2019:
10 min , environ 50 $
20 min, environ 80$ . Vous avez des formules que vous trouvez directement auprès de votre hôtel. C est très bien organisé. Bon voyage
Please tell me how to book a waterfall full moon tour. Can I join by reservation on the day or the day before? How should I make a reservation? Where is my reservation?

Is it recommended to get a tour of the falls- or just wander around yourself?

We went with family and had no problems at all. You have to pay to get in anyway, so I would not pay even more for a guide. Opposite the entrance are some souvenir stalls - spend your money there instead!

Hoping to explore Victoria Falls and Okavango area by vehicle in Feb 2019. Does the rain seriously interfere with travel in Feb? How are the roads then - hope to drive from Maun to Katima Mulilo.

I personally have not driven, used shuttle services, but I have colleagues who regularly do road trips between Botswana and Vic Falls in a small sedan. They say the roads are fine, though am not sure of rainy seasons.

I was injured while on our trip (this past March) and had to see Victoria Falls in a wheel chair. It was NOT easy. The paved path (flagstones, mostly) is rough, narrow, and very steep in places. There are frequent steps, too, although they are not high steps and there are usually no more than 3 or 4 steps at a time. What we did, at the advice of our hotel, was to hire a burly young man to push my wheel chair. He was great! He and my husband were able to get me everywhere I needed to go. And it was SO worth the money. The falls were spectacular!

Hi Sheffield.
Yes many game drives around Livingstone. Never the less you can try coming to Zimbabwe side where you can try one of our leading private game reserve in Victoria Falls town. The chances of you seeing the big 5 here are at list available.
Zim side also provides with the largest National Park in Zimbabwe on a 2 hrs drive from Victoria Falls town with varieties of game parks suitable for game drives and or camping. Good campsites available for you.
Not forgeting about the Zambezi National Park along the magestic Zambezi river where a game drive conducted in the park is a true enthusiatic game of challenge to see more game. Plenty of game but with thick vegitaion making more a sport to locate some game.
Chobe National Park in Botswana becomes another alternative though depending with your vissa applications. Recommendations on Chobe trips are always good and pleasing.
Looking down to see you in March for activities to add up to this.

Take a cab, affordable, or use the services of a local tour company which driver then also serves as a guide at no extra cost.
