Highly recommended! We made a scooter trip through Senegal and the Gambia on a scooter with 3 friends organized by Scoot West Africa. What an experience! The preparation and contact with Phil beforehand was top noach and reassuring. During the trip we enjoyed the professional guidance and great company of Matt and Boubacar. Absolutely wonderful adventure. I can't imagine any other way to travel West Africa. I did the Boa Festa two-week tour starting in mid-February and it was the perfect balance between directedness and flexibility. My only complaint is that sometimes I felt rushed to leave at a specific time despite an earlier statement that we would leave around a certain time, implying flexibility in the schedule. Perhaps this was more due to the dynamic of the specific group I travelled with, which is difficult to control.
At no point did I feel like I was slogging through tiresome activities that everyone had to partake in. Other than travel from town to town, you can choose to join the group in activities at your leisure. Join the gang for beers in town? Sure, but if you want to relax at the beach alone after a long ride, you can do that too. You'll probably want to partake in most activities though, as they were all a blast.
As well, Phil and Matt are incredibly attentive to the needs of the group. They were exceedingly well-prepared for any situation and did whatever it took to sort out any individual problems that arose. Along with Boubokar, an incredible and chill mechanic that makes sure everything rolls smoothly, they form an incredible team that will ensure you have the best West Africa adventure you can imagine. Experience of a lifetime, hands down.

It’s an adventure unlike any other. At times challenging but always exciting. The scenery is incredible, the food is excellent and the people are some of the friendliest you’ll ever meet. Matt, Phil and Boubacar take excellent care of their guests. Their experience, patience, local knowledge, network of friends and fantastic attitudes really elevates an already amazing trip into something you’ll never forget.

An epic trip! And a rare opportunity to really get out of the grind and explore life's edges. This was my first trip to West Africa and I couldn't have imagined a better way to see it. A trip like this would normally require months of planning, but Matt and Phil navigate everything with a calm and ease that simply removes the worry of logistics from your equation and allows you to really enjoy the world and life happening around you. I cannot say enough about this trip, this concept, and these tour guides. This is the adventure you have been looking for! Go take it!

Certain adventure it was! To see and explore through Senegal, The Gambia and Guinea Bissau. Phil and his team were fantastic, from dealing with difficult situations at boarders to ensuring were catered for in every way, they made it happen. Visiting great places along the way, traveling by motorcycle, meeting with local people, what a wonderful way to experience West Africa. I don't think it will be my last visit to West Africa or with Phil, Mustafa and Boubaka. Thanks guys.😀

This was my first time travelling in West Africa and I wasn't disappointed. Phil is a knowledgeable guide and great fun to be with. It is obvious he loves the countries we visited and the people we met, He is also well able to deal with the inevitable unforeseen circumstances that happen on trips like this - ably assisted by Mustapha and Bubaka. The countryside was beautiful, the locals were really friendly and you are travelling like a local on the scooters - albeit over distances that they consider crazy! A proper adventure - highly recommended.

I’ve read the other reviews and I agree with every word they have already said. This trip is not just a vacation, it’s an adventure. One that takes you to the depths of your senses, explores the far reaches of your brain, and expands reality. I have scooted several places and I’m a seasoned rider but I have never push my boundaries this far before. Over loose and packed sand, good roads and bad I was challenged. It now gives me a sense of accomplishment to know that my limits are now limitless! And this is all giving thanks to our tour guides Matt and Phil. Their was not one second that we did not feel safe, not one concern was over looked and the grace in which they prepared each day for us made it look effortless. From morning breakfast to nightly dinners we were moving, enjoying, exploring, and having a great time. Thank you Matt and Phil for making our vacation an adventure to remember!

I have traveled the world by many means, including scooters, but this was by far one of the greatest. Matt and Phil are two of the greatest leaders and I am not sure who was having the most fun, us or them. We where a group of ten that have ridden a lot and we all found it to be a great, once in a life time, experience.
I encourage anyone that wants to get out of the comfort zone as comfortably as possible should give this a ride.

12 days with Phi and Matt in West Africa was an amazing experience and a total adventure. They were able to get us "unclose and personal" with the people who live and work in West Africa. In addition to their vast knowledge of the area, they connected locals who were able to educate our group about local life, customs and the culture. Do take cash, credit cards are useless. A debit card for ATMs is ok, but sometimes it takes a few tries to find an ATM that works with your network or has cash. This trip maxed our the fun meter.
