Overall it was a nice place to visit. Is it a must? As for me no. The atmosphere was nice. Bathrooms are dirty and smell. It's must be a cultural thing. Everybody spitting everywhere. It's not nice where I come from. We find it disgusting. But this seem to be a cultural thing. My overall experience in Nepal was nice. Will I visit again? Maybe.

The cable car is good and looks safe enough. The crowd was less. Starts around 830 am. Closes around 5 pm. There is a break from 12 to 1 in the afternoon everyday. So plan accordingly. Safe with kids and elders. We get snacks and tea also on top of the hills. Breathtaking views. Nice temple on the top. Must visit when we go to Kathmandu.

До канатной дороги добирался из отеля в районе Тамель на такси. Договорился с таксистом за 1000 рупий. Ехать минут сорок. Стоимость канатной дороги туда и обратно составляет 22 доллара. Оплатил рупиями, что составило 2925 рупий. Подьем на гору занимает около 15 минут. С горы открываются великолепные виды на долину и горы. Есть кафе, где можно недорого покушать. В общей сложности провел около 3 часов. Внизу у входа на канатную дорогу много таксистов, поэтому уехать обратно труда не составило. Все впечатлило.

Top notch place to visit while in kathmandu. I visit was managed by Budget Adventure Treks and expeditions company. Trip was organised smoothly and got great view . I was lucky no rain even on raining dsy. Clear blue sky. Great spot guys most visit

Firstly , the view was amazing, away fromthe hustle and bustle of the city. To sweeten the deal, we got upgraded to the executive suite and the room was amazing. Thank you ot the hotel management. The Ala carte dinner was just too delicious. Had a memorable stay.. will surely recommend to others.

Lugar sobre estimado.
Demora aproximadamente 30 minutos a una hora en transporte privado.
Si bien el teleférico se encuentra en buenas condiciones, el costo de éste más el transporte no valen su precio: por la alta contaminación de la ciudad no es posible apreciar NADA del paisaje (se espera ver el himalaya en detalle)
Hay un pequeño templo en la cima, nada espectacular en relación a la infinidad de templos que encuentras en la ciudad.

On April 21, 2023, cables cars broke down trapping everyone on top of the hill with no safe way to get down. Heavily mismanaged and unsafe. The staff sent people to walk down the hill area after making everyone wait 5 hours giving no information on situation. Physical fights started to breakout at onepoint between customers and staff. Police were called but could do nothing to help. Old people, people with kids everyone was stuck on the hill for hours and management was unprepared and unprofessional. Noone was given any updates on the situation and many people left without compensation.

Super boring park. Air is always not good in Nepal so don’t expect a view from here. Nothing to eat either. Location is bad. Not worth to visit.

Great view of the town. You can face the traffic to be over there, but you will be happy after you get to the top of the hill..

Hikes are possible if done totally meaning, going up and down by yourself.
If you use the cable car, you are charged for a return trip, so they do not have the option of one way cable car and return by hike

Hi, you definately can go from Thankot uphill riding, quite steep, so you have to have good legs... You can from the top of the pass divert to Chandragiri cable car top station and furter to Hattiban, or descend in the chitlang valley and further to Daman or via Markhu (there are some Guest Houses) to Khulekhani and drive back to Kathmandu passing to Dakshinkali and Balkhu to Kathmandu. Did it myself on a moto bike in one good day, by mountainbike i suggest to stop in Markhu by the lake and enjoy a good fresh fish ... make it a 2 day tour. BTW i lived 10 years in the area ad did several trips to Chandragiri and beyond to the Terai ore roud trips like above or also through Daman ...
