On ressent à Budhnilkantha l'importance et la ferveur de l'hindouisme. On peut trés facilement, traverser la ville et monter à pied par la route pour avoir un trés beau point de vue sur Kathmandou

One of the acient holy place in the bed of National park. It has National park in one side while you see whole kathmandu vally on the other side. If you are Hindu than this must be the place to be visited

Located on the outskirts of Katmandu city, this place is also known as Jal Narayan. The temple hosts Lord Vishnu in the sleeping posture inside a pond. The uniqueness of the statue is that Vishnu is resting on his back on the serpant Adishesha rather than on his palm and sleeping side ways. The place has a special aura and is very calm and peaceful.

It’s kinda nice there. I was there while on my way to the hills and was there again at the evening on my way back. The place and surrounding area looked quite charming with all the lights. There’s a evening bazaar too I think.

A must visit for Lord Vishnu devotees which encompasses Hindus and Buddhists. The name might not directly related to Lord Vishnu or Lord Narayana , but the image is definitely Lord Vishnu.

amazing temple. Vishnu ji lying on an invisible sheshnaag. very clean. all the pundits are young boys. a must visit place for hindus.

About 10 km form the capital city of Kathmandu, the temple of Budhanilkanta temple can be found. There is nothing connected to Bhudhism here. Bhudha Nilkanta is said to mean the Old Bluethroated God. Again another confustion in the name. Usually the name Nilkanta is attributed to Lord Shiva - but is a temple of Lord Vishnu.
Nevertheless the Budhists also visit temple to offer prayers here. And the Saivaits claim that claim a reclining image of Shiva can be seen under the waters of the lake during the annual Shiva festival there in August.
These apart, the temple a beautiful one attracting thousands of pilgrims round the year. The 5m reclining Vishnu on the Athisesha in a pool of more than 10m is a great awesome site. People can offer worship from the padam side .

Ero molto interessata ad assistere alla cerimonia mattutina della vestizione del Dio Vishnu io e la mia guida Dinesh parlante italiano siamo partiti presto verso questo tempio hindu che si trova a dieci chilometri da Kathmandu all’interno di un bacino di acqua si trova questa enorme statua di Vishnu sdraiato su un letto di naga la scultura è in pietra scura ho assistito a tutta la cerimonia dove non era presente nessun turista ma solo fedeli locali intenti a pregare con cestini pieni di offerte tra cui cibo frutta candele incensi fiori è stato molto coinvolgente vedere giovanissimi novizi preparare la scultura al risveglio mattutino di Vishnu iniziano lavando la statua con acqua versano il latte la spalmano di crema decorano il volto poi c’è il rito della vestizione con teli di seta ornamenti per il capo e le braccia e tanti fiori Lo consiglio

Morning and evening poojas are done, however, morning is ideal for doing any pooja.
