We had a great day at the Blue Elephant Thailand Tours. The tour guid was informative and entertaining, the elephants were wonderful. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. Highly recommend this tour.

We have visited several different elephant sanctuaries outside of Chiang Mai over the years...they've all been wonderful experiences, but Blue Elephant felt particularly right for us. You do not ride, bathe or actually feed the elephants. Instead you actually hike among the elephants and observe them close up as they engage in each of the above activities. What we particularly appreciated was our guide's narrative about his farm and the other nearby farms that all work together to provide food and to protect their elephants. It was a great visit, very ethical and we came away having learned more about the local culture.

Fantastic day! The elephants are so loved and cared for as it should be. Truly an ethical sanctuary where no riding, bathing or touching is allowed. Truly mesmerised watching these gentle giants walking through the jungle 🙂

Mr. Simon was very kind and took good care of us (family with two kids) . Always in good mood on the whole trip. The best experience was no doubt to visit the village in the middle of the jungle. And to feel their hospitality.

Wow. What an experience. From the time Simon picked us up to the drop off. Great English. Safe driving. We did caves. Slept in a tree house. Ate like queens. Elephants!!! Rafting. All under the watchful eye of Simon. Making sure we were safe and having a great time. I can’t say enough about this tour, the tour company communications before & Simon. I’d give it 10 stars. If you are looking for a tour. Look no further. The over night tour will not disappoint!!

Wonderful experience. Our guide Billy was very informative and enjoyable. He took so many great pictures with our camera that left us with great memories. The whole group were very respectful and considerate of the elephants. We appreciated their ethical approach. Long twisty ride up to the Sanctuary from Chiang Mai. This group takes you in a nice air conditioned transporter van - do not get sucked into a group tour with a less ethical tour company who transport you for 1 1/2 hours in a closed in pickup bed. We passed Multiple of these transports heading to their sanctuaries with miserable people stuffed in the back on sideways benches. Not worth saving 200-300 THB. Can’t say enough about our experience. 5 star all the way Excellent lunch to boot.

We loved our day out getting close up and interacting with the elephants.
This included feeding them several times, walking, stroking and bathing with them. What a truly amazing experience.
A nice thai curry was also included and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The best and most ethical elephant sanctity! The whole experience was magical, the hands off approach and being able to watch the elephants do exactly what they wanted to do without touching, feeding or bathing was the best way it could be. You really feel involved in the experience and the guide was amazing at telling you all about the elephants and was very frequently. I would 10000% recommend going here on your trip to Chaing Mai !!

I had an amazing time on the elephant tour. We did the morning half day tour and made food for the elephants then walked with them through the jungle to a beautiful waterfall. Our tour guide Ms. Nicha was amazing and taught us all about elephants before we started and answered any questions we had. She also took photos and was fun to chat with on our walk. This tour felt like the most ethical option to get close to elephants on their own terms. It was fully hands off but I still felt so close and got to interact with them. After elephant time we had an amazing lunch and a foot spa. The pick up and drop off to our hotel was just icing on the cake! It was incredibly easy to organize through WhatsApp and the team was very responsive. This is easily my favorite experience in Thailand and would 100% recommend!!

My wife and I did the 2 day, 1 night tour visiting Chiang Rai, staying overnight in the treehouse, and then doing the Elephant sanctuary the second day. Simon, our guide, was amazing. He took care of us the whole time, including driving and helping with meals. He was the best guide we had in Thailand.
We had an amazing time in the treehouse, it’s truly a once in a lifetime view and experience. Food was great as well. The elephant sanctuary was by far the highlight though, where we were lucky and had a private hike with two elephants. The whole experience was fantastic. If we did this again, we probably would opt to do a different itinerary the first day. Even though the temples were great, it was a long day of driving.
Thank you Simon for an amazing time, we’ll remember this trip forever!

Yes and she is adorable !! Baby, mom and another female elephant....so we fed and bathed three in a group of five of us

Unfortunately, we are no longer run the White Temple tour since

how far is the Blue Tao from the Chiang Mai Old Town?
and how long is the walking distance in the Blue Tao as my daughter is only 9 year-old and she may not be able to walk far.

Yes, we have the shower rooms at our Blue Tao Elephant Village.
What to Bring
- T-shirt & long or short pants, walking shoes, water shoes, swimming gear, towel, a pair of socks,
a change of cloth and underwear, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, and camera.
What we provided for you
- The elephant keeper outfits, rubber rain boots, Thai hobo shoulder bags.
- Shower rooms, western toilets and metal lockers.

Price for Half day elephant care at Blue Tao visit is 1,900 Baht / person.
Full day visit costs at 2,500 Baht / person.
Combined day tour costs at 4,900 Baht / person.

They have a few options on tours depending on what you want to do some are for a few days or you can do a full day or just half a day. They are pretty flexible and are willing to work with you to give you the best experience. To get a better answer try and contact them directly to seee what options they offer for your group.
