We visited this place during our walking tour of the old city and is located in the centre of the old city. It’s the site where ovens were placed to cast Buddha images for Wat Chedi Luang, which is nearby. The viharn is beautiful. Opposite the entrance is a large golden sitting Buddha, the Wat Phan Tao’s principal Buddha image. There is also a large white chedi. We were there in the evening and it was shutting down for the day then.

チェンマイの代表的な寺院Wat Chedi Luangの横にある寺院です。残念ながら本堂は改修中でしたが金色のチェディは眩しいほど輝いていて見事でした。Wat Chedi Luang訪問前後にこちらの金色チェディを見学されることをお勧めします。

Unfortunately this was being renovated when we went so we couldn't go inside or see very much. We did have a small peek and saw a little of the beautiful teak workmanship as it is a masterpiece of wooden construction.
It is situated next door to Wat Chedi Luang which is a must see in Chiang Mai.

バンコク在住のカメラマンさんのインスタで知り、伺いました。夜のライトアップがとっても素敵です。敷地内には無料で入れますが、寄付箱があったので寄付して帰りました。
写真を撮りたくなる場所ですが、あくまで仏教寺院ですので配慮ある行動を。多くの僧侶の方がいらっしゃるので、女性の方は僧侶の体に触れないように気をつけてください。

Le hall de prière est actuellement en pleine rénovation. On peut accéder uniquement au stupa qui est décoré de rubans multicolores. C'est un beau spectacle à voir.

วัดนี้สวยมากครับเหมาะสำหรับคนที่ต้องการไปทำบุญ 9 วัดผมแนะนำเลยย่านพระสิงค์นี่สุดยอดครับวัดเพียบเลยมีแต่สวยๆทั้งนั้น แม่ผมชอบไปมากครับ

die Schönheit dieses Tempels aus Holz (in der Nähe von Wat Chedi Luang ) lässt sich derzeit nur durch Gerüst -zweck Restaurierung- erahnen

Our next stop was Wat Phan Tao, meaning “temple of a thousand kilns”. It served as a throne hall for one of Chiang Mai’s Kings of Lanna Kingdom. The beauty of this wooden temple is remarkable. Wat Phan Tao is known for its exquisite Lanna-style ordination hall entirely made of teakwood.

The is another of Chiang Mai's oldest and beautiful temples built at the end of the 14th Century located beside Wat Chedi Luang on Phra Pok Lao Road. This temple has one of the more beautifully decorated gardens. That alone gives it a unique status.
The main temple is made of wood with a large, majestic golden Buddha inside. There are large trees on the grounds and a small pond and sitting area for relaxing and admiring the beautiful temple gardens.

How often do they light the candles outside around the statues at night? We just saw it for Buddhist Lent, but missed the part where there are also candles in the water. Thanks.

To be honest I have no idea because I visited this place during the day time. But based on the information obtained during my visit, the lights are lighter everyday. The validity of the fact am not sure

Richard Barrow een bekende fotojournalist schreef over deze tempel; "There's a good Flea Market at Wat Phan On in Chiang Mai every Friday. Some good quality & original products on sale.", iemand ooit deze markt bezocht?
